I'll let the tape speak for itself. Obviously he did not prepare for it. I watch him this morning in his interview with Mayock and the kid seemed pretty sharp. He answered all of MMs questions without hesitation as to where the ball goes in this look or that look, even when the coverage changed. He was nails, I think this kid is a special talent. there are some warts and that is why I think he drops to 15, if he didn't have these warts he would be first off the board. I'm putting all my eggs in the LJ basket and have for quite sometime.

For a QB, a 13 wonderlic score is really bad. Cause for concern.
Are qb's supposed to be smarter than the other positions? After seeing a couple of these wonderlic questions, they kind of sound like they are trying to trick you, not see how smart you are. But, maybe that's the point? I don't know..
But, I also don't think I would pass on him just because of his wonderlic score.

Yikes. Baker is a 4th round gamble and Lamar is not a NFL QB.

I think someone is going to get a solid pick in the 2nd or even 3rd round, but now he's plummeting. I'm quietly jumping off the "draft Jackson at 15" bandwagon.

Not only that, that somebody traded up to get Manzeil.

To me, it isn't so much about it being an indicator of how smart he is, it's that he chose not to prepare for it. The guy's already got an uphill battle on his hands and he chooses to blow off the Wonderlic? That's not a good sign IMO.

Or he was just focused on being the best QB he can be and not worried about a stupid test. Either way it is not an indicator of if he'll be a good QB or not. Imo

I know the test itself doesn't really predict if a guy can play QB but I just don't like a guy who isn't doing anything and everything he can to win a job at this point. I mean, if he's going to bother to take the test, why not prepare for it? It doesn't make sense to me.

If Jackson falls till the 2nd round it just shows how stupid some GMs are. Then again somebody did draft Manziel in round 1 and he was a POS and not that great as a QB. Not only that, that somebody traded up to get Manziel.

Must have been his impressive Wonderlic score...

I do not think what he has done so far shows a malcontent or that he is not smart (meaning he probably did not have any help preparing for a test which is systematic). His behavior so far shows NFL teams that he does not trust people and if you cannot trust people, why should they trust you might be the general observation by some teams. I simply think he has no guidance and not running the forty and making interviews difficult might give an impression which he's insecure... a trait no quarterback wants to give off

On average, the better QBs in the league score at least a 20 on it. How are people okay with someone so dumb potentially being the starting QB of a professional football team?

Sure playing football isn't necessarily associated with IQ but you still need to be able to read the defense, memorize plays, situational football awareness etc.

Plus someone who scores a freaking 13 on his wonderlic can't be relied on to stay out of trouble off the field either.

I can't believe people are trying to defend Jackson's score of 13...you get a score of 3 for simply writing your name and date correctly.

sunsfan88, I only got two points because I didn't capitalize the first letters. And if we draft a running QB, who has a narrow frame, the Wunderlic scores probably look like this:

Mayfield-25
Jackson-13
Keim-10 :)

Found a site the let's you take the Wonderlic test. I scored a 22. A 13 is bad. If I didn't know the answer right off I just skipped it.

https://footballiqscore.com/quiz/full-quiz/question/38

Just took it again and scored a 27. Some of the questions changed but a good amount were the same. Bottom line is this, you can prep for this test and come out with a good score. I improved by 5 points just on the second try. Some of the questions are very similar in structure or task asked to complete. Going through it a second time actually helped in that comprehension of the questions was easier the second time. It's quite apparent Jackson didn't even bother to brush up on the Wonderlic. A score of 13 is pretty bad especially for a college level person. You have to ignore the time restraint, if you don't (it's 12 minutes) you can freeze your mind as you're always looking at the clock counting down. In an hour taking this several times there is no reason not to score in the 30s. Both times I did everything in my head. I don't know if they allow testers to use a paper and pencil. That would make it even easier.

I understand why they give it. It estimates how well a person can take information presented and process it to a logical results. Yes, it has nothing to do with football and a person can be football smart and not test well on the Wonderlic. What it does do is tell you how well a person can take information that may be new or is a variation of what is standard (for example changing a play formation or tweaking it during a game) and being able to execute it. I guess the best example I can give is imagine working on a game plan all week only to find out once the game starts, it's a terrible game plan and you have to reverse directions. This gives an indication of how well a person can also reverse directions and go with a drastically different game plan mid stream during a game. That is my take on the purpose of the Wonderlic test. How well they can think on their feet.

Mayock was being kind. Softball questions and providing answers to the questions he was asking. Worst Mayock ever did.

That was the owner's call and he is right there alongside Snyder.

BTW agents are the ones who set up interviews and preparations. Mom is in way over her head.
