I watched Paul for YEARS on the Clippers and he didn't do half the garbage crap that Draymond's done. Does he play with elbows, and look to take shots every now and then? Sure. So did Stockton. Draymond tries to start fights, takes head and nut shots. There's a difference and the fact that you don't see it just shows how little objectivity you have.
Did you enjoy Barkley as a Sun? Did you consider him a thug? I just think your definition of thug is a loose one at best.

There has to be consistency...if you are going to define thuggery as anyone who regularly (and regularly is debatable with Green) targets junk then you are going to have to label several other dirty players, "thugs."

Green does much more than just throw nut shots. He's constantly taking headshots, body checking, "falling on people" with elbows when they slip, etc. etc.

Just admit it yourself that you don't care that he's one of the dirtiest players in the league. That's all you really have to do.

Barkley was tough. Not a thug. At least with the Suns.

He was a complete idiot at times on the Sixers.

Had Green played in the non-sensitive, non-wuss eras of the 80's and 90's, he would've been considered a "tough" player. He's not even on Laimbeer's level.

I'll be honest... I'm not a big Chris Paul fan. And fine. Yeah. He's a thug who gets away with crap, but Draymond is still another level. Paul isn't constantly taking head shots, bringing arms down on guys shooting, throwing elbows, stepping on guy, falling down on guys with elbows bent etc etc.

Never said he wasn't dirty...still doesn't rise to thug level.

I agree I'm just trying to get at your definition of thug. Mine is I can't tell you but I know it when I see it. Yours may be the same. I agree Draymond is a dirty player, he crossed the line far more earlier than he has the last 2 years. I think he genuinely learned somethign after getting suspended in game 6 2 years ago. I think the Warriors convinecd him to dial it back a bit so he doesn't get suspended. he still crosses the line too much though.

But for example in the Cleveland series the first game Iggy come back 2 different Cavs players set screens were they intentionally ran into the back of Iggy's bad knee, to me that's thug, trying to injure someone. Draymond crosses that line enough I'm fine with calling him a thug. I just also think Paul is a thug. I also think Ginobili was but again he was so good in his prime people excused it. Hell I think Kobe Bryant was a thug at times he took some incredible cheapshots.

But Draymond certainly does it more often than any of those guys except for Paul.

Kobe was more of a punk than a thug bc he would dish it out thuggishly but couldn’t take it coming back at him.

To me ginobili was more reckless than thuggish. Maybe just as dangerous but without the malicious intent.

See you like Barkely, so you excuse it. Green no different than Chucky.

No. I said Barkley was an idiot on the Sixers but he CHANGED when he got to the Suns. And actually changed after he spit on that girl. I can respect someone who realized they were wrong and changed their mind.

You might want to try the same thing instead of going with non-stop Trumpian whataboutisms in this convo.

I think this is fair... with one caveat. Don't feel like Ginobli was a thug in the sense all these other guys were. Don't get me wrong, I hated him, but I save the "thug" tag on that team for Bowen who was consistently out there trying to break ankles.

Kobe was definitely a cheap-shot artist as well. In fact the NBA actually legislated Ts into the game because of his "flailing" elbows after he shot the ball. He was a complete punk bitch. Great player, but a guy who throws the kind of cheap shots he did, crap on teammates in public, throw them under the bus in private TO THE COPS and give up multiple times in games, one of them a Game 7 is an all-time piece of garbage.

I mean, none of the above even mentions the fact that he probably RAPED someone.

LMAO @ trumpian. I'm not saying what about, I am trying to understand where your reasoning lies (BIM?).

I still do not consider Draymond a thug, you do. That's that.

To an extent maybe but when you consistently throw out your arm trying to draw a foul and keep hitting guys in the face at some point you have to accept it's something he's well aware he's doing.

Ginobili was a thug of the first rank in my book. He would flail and stagger 20 feet in order to hit an opponent in someplace below the waist. It was not random because he never hit a teammate.

Neither is adultery. To answer your question there is no point. I was just trying to out-snark your snarky comment. :)

It wasn't my best effort, I'd be willing to call it a snark draw. I just didn't want to pass up an opportunity to take a shot at Kobe.

Neither Kobe or Ginobli were more thuggish than Raja Bell. That he hasn't been mentioned yet shows the sort of Phoenix bias. He's definitely in that class with them though, at his most thuggish around the same time period also. I don't mind players like that so much as long as they back it up to a degree. The ones that really bother me are the Morrii, the fake tough guys, who only try assaulting smaller players and then deny it when confronted. They've gotten tough with coaches and guards throughout their career, and managers, but no one that is close to the same size. They would have been knocked out of the league if they played in the 80's or 90's.
