Thought I'd make a thread for G-League stuff, all of the call ups and assignments plus any big games that get mentioned. That way we don't clutter things too much with threads for guys each time they get called up or down.

And to kick it all off, Jalen Lecque has been assigned to the NAZ Suns. I believe this means he'll take part in their training camp because their season is a week away still.

Way to go. Use this tool to develop these super young players. Maybe the league should have a minimum age for the NBA big league--say 20. Others can be drafted and paid big, but they have to play in the G-league until their 20th bday. Or maybe the big league team would be allowed to just have one player under 20 years old on its game roster. Just an off-hand idea.

It sure would be a shot in the arm for the G-league.

Jalen Lecque is an incredible athlete for sure. I'm not sure if "Baby Westbrook" is appropriate now that he is in the NBA.

Looks like Jones will use NAZ. McD didn't give a hoot and the record shows the last 3 years in Prescott.

Have you made the trip before?

Has anyone here gone to check out a game in Prescott Valley? I'm debating on it but I'd like to hear what it's like.

I haven't but I drive by it frequently. The area around the arena has a lot of food options and hotels or you can just stay up in Prescott

NAZ Suns waive Troy Williams.

Kellan Olson‏Verified account @KellanOlson

The NAZ Suns announce they have waived Troy Williams after he was charged by police for assault and disorderly conduct in Prescott Valley today. The Phoenix Suns recently signed and waived Williams so they had his affiliate rights.

NAZ has the Roster on its site now. Like the guards Lecque, Harper, Miles and Kramer. I think Kramer will be the scorer.
Long trip for me to take from North Carolina. But if I was in Prescott.

Lecque had 21 on 7-10 from the field and 3-4 from 3 with 2 steals. If stat lines like that become a regularity we could have found a steal of a rookie free agent signing.

The drive to Presskit sucks.

Then why not follow it with a drive through Sedona
before heading home?

Seeing the Red Rocks through the Village of Oak Creek
and Sedona is beautiful and uplifting. With many fun
restaurants to grab dinner at.

Lecque and Harper getting a chance to impress.

Duane Rankin‏Verified account @DuaneRankin

Jalen Lecque not having fast start in 1st quarter, but fellow rookie Jared Harper is.

2-way player hitting 3s, getting to rim, dropping dimes.

In attendance: #Suns GM James Jones, forward Mikal Bridges, assistant Randy Ayers and director of player development Riccardo Fois.

“Dropping dimes” - funny. Two assists. Lecque had a pretty poor game as well.

In the G-League games I've explored assists seem to be at a premium. I thought the idea was team play but maybe it's still a lot of every man for himself. Maybe things will change in the second half.

I figured it’s just a step up from summer league in terms of organization, but Harper isn’t ever been known as a distributor.

#Suns two-way player, rookie Jared Harper closing out half with 3 at buzzer as he has 24 points in leading Northern Arizona Suns to a 69-55 halftime lead.

Rookie Jalen Lecque has 6 points, both on 3s, 2 assists. Shooting 2-of-7 FGs. Coming up empty vs. contact around rim.
Oh, that’s half. Lol. I thought maybe they played two halves instead of quarters. Lol. Okay 24 in a half is impressive, regardless of only “dropping” two “dimes.”

If Harper didn't turn the ball over and looked for more assists he would have a chance with the big club.
