Patrick Williams and Jalen Smith rising. Tyrese Haliburton is still there at #10 in this mock.

Haliburton at 10 is a no-brainer if the draft plays out like this...

I'm not 100% sold on Haliburton as a PGOF...but I think he'd be a great fit right away and could make a real impact next year. Smart player who could work well with Booker and with Rubio imo.

I think it's the safest pick at #10 and in a draft like this, filled with uncertainty, this may be the way to go.

Suns need to find a contributor and it can be at any position.

I can also see the Suns trading down again in this draft if they like a player projected to go later. I see Desmond Bane is projected to go at #19. That's a name that keeps coming up.

And Bane is another Davon Reed. Stay away. Stay far away.

Frankly, I am fine with the Suns taking anyone OTHER than Mannion, Maxey, Quickley, Bane, Riller and Anthony.

I'm even okay taking Pritchard, Dotson, Tyler Bey or Howard, if they trade down to do so.

The one thing the Suns cannot afford to take in this draft is a chucker guard who can't shoot, who can't or won't pass and who is turnover-prone. That is why I say avoid Mannion, Maxey, Quickley, Bane, Riller and Anthony at all costs.

I am slowly warming up to Haliburton. I still think we are short on bigs on our line up, and this will bring ANOTHER PG to the roster, but he looks like an upgrade over Ty Jerome. Okoboe, Payne, Carter, and Lecque, who does he replace?

I don't think Okobo will be back. If it came down to it, Haliburton is more than Jerome or Lecque.

That said, the Suns could easily have 5 roster spots open so they have room.

Haliburton replaces Okobo and Jerome for sure, as neither should be in the G League, let alone the NBA. Carter should should stay on as a third PG and defensive specialist. Lecque is still at least 2-3 years away, if he ever develops an NBA game. The real question is Payne, but Haliburton can back up at the 2 while also playing the 1.

I still think a 4 has to be priority #1 in the offseason, but if they can fill that position through other means, their top realistic options in the draft are Haliburton or Hayes if one drops, or else Vassell or Nesmith.

Barring a total collapse before next season, keeping Cam Payne is a must. He is as close to a viable backup point guard as I have seen for quite awhile. Carter is a keeper in my book.

We need a better backup PG. You can’t take 8 games in a practice environment over a career sample.

We have more than that to go on. We have 8 games (I don't buy the practice environment downgrade, it applied to all teams) plus we have a quality Head Coach that has worked with him before and wanted him in Phoenix. It's not enough to be sure of anything but I think it's more than enough to give him a good look.

Here I concur. But just to be safe, it would be nice to get a back-up for Booker who could also play the point in a pinch...

I'm thinking, keep Cam Payne and Jevon Carter as backup guards.

Then draft a point guard with the 10th pick or sign another point guard like D.J. Augustin. A combo guard would work as well.

That's all fine and good, but above all else we need a starting power forward alongside Ayton at center.

NBA is revamping pre-draft guidelines.

Definitely looks like we should get the results of all the athletic testing and measurements.

I'm especially eager to see the results. I'm a fan of wingspan as it allows a player to play bigger than their height.

IMO, below average wingspan has been a bigger problem for Ty Jerome than mediocre athleticism. Lack of arm length has really effected his shot facing the quickness of NBA players.

Me too... I’m really curious to see the official heights and wingspans of Patrick Williams and Saddiq Bey. I have a feeling that if some of the top players don’t slip that they may look at a small ball 4.

Agree. Wingspan measurements could give these players a boost or not.

Williams at 225 pounds, and Bey at 216 with room to add some more muscle would at least have a shot physically at playing an effective small 4, as opposed to our current group of wings, who are all relatively light and lanky (all weighing 210 pounds or less)...
