They lost in the end but another play that shows just how good GP2 is on defense. Luka is as good as just about anybody at using his body to protect the ball, he gets the steal and then in transition GP2 is just stalking him the whole way. Luka knows he's there, is totally prepared for it, and GP2 still gets the ball. Luka had this look on his face like he could not believe Payton did that.

Terrible, terrible loss last night.

It’s a bit ridiculous to rank them this low, but it’s hard to argue with their logic:

Over the last 27 games Mavs 20-7, Warriors 16-11. Without Draymond just not the same team. Klay didn't play last night so Curry really needed someone else. Kuminga played ok but had a couple of rough plays, missed dunk a goaltend where he grabbed the net and got a T as well. GP2 played well but in crunch time down 6 missed a huge open corner 3.

My take is Bjelica has fallen off a cliff, Porter Jr has hit a wall, and Poole is less consistent coming off the bench than he was as a starter. Add in that without Draymond teams are loading up on Curry and making him pass and it's hurt the offense.

on the other end Dallas made much of that run with the bench, and Curry out part of it, but when he came back in they went after him with Luka and Luka either scored, or passed to someone who hit a 3. Still it came down to 2 late clock shots by Dinwiddie, both 3's that were really the difference.

I'm biased but when Klay doesn't play I think they should just play Payton 30 plus minutes. He played 27 last night was +9 and he came in during the big Dallas run and he helped but they just couldn't score. Moody started for some reason he was +14 didn't really do much was largely just in during the big runs. Poole was terrible -12 in 19 minutes 0-7 0-2 including 2 bad layups where he just slowed up and hotdogged when he could have dunked and they both got blocked from behind. You could see on the bench Payton was really mad at Poole he was saying to someone else "he's gotta dunk that".

Wiseman was sent to the G league, did one scrimmage and then brought back so I assume he's really close and hopefully ready because Bjelica is giving them nothing and I think the reason Porter is struggling is worn out trying to play some backup 5.

I think they’re going to have to deal Poole eventually. Unless they plan on just paying him to sit and wait for Klay to retire.

I just don’t see him wanting to stay around , for he’s clearly less effective coming off the bench.

Obviously, that points to maturity issue in my book. Playing well should not be contingent upon being a starter.

I don’t know how long the honeymoon is gonna’ last in that regard. He’s a near 20 points per game player in this league

What's with all the Porter Jr's in the league? There's Michael, Otto, and Kevin. I don't remember there being so many Jr's in the league at once, let alone all having the last name Porter.

Just an odd coincidence.

Lakers intend to sign point guard D.J. Augustin and waive DeAndre Jordan.

The 76ers will likely pursue Jordan.

He had 52 tonight.

This is only his 3rd year and he’s at 27/7/6. That’s ridiculous.

Really would love to see GS have to go thru this Memphis team in the second round if we’re still standing come WCF.

Absolutely insane how athletic and exciting that dude is. When I think of players who have thrown their bodies around like that... Rose, Iverson, Jordan, LeBron, young Barkley, Larry Johnson, Shawn Marion before he got under cut. You have to love that fearless play style but having the ability to physically endure it is rare. Hope he can hold up, he has had some really frightening falls.

And man... while I absolutely love CP3 and what he has brought to the team, some lotto luck in 2019, giving us a core of Morant, Booker, Bridges and Ayton... siiiiiiiiigh.

He’s a damn video game. Maybe pound for pound the most entertaining player in the NBA.

How do you not love this kid

It's good Morant is not playing in the eighties and nineties when an opponent would take him down hard.

Still I worry if he gets undercut or comes down wrong. He can fly.

There goes Isaiah Thomas as he signs a 10-day contract with Charlotte.

I don't think they make a move.
I don't think they have any intention of making a move until the buyouts. And even then, it will only be for a player they believe can really help us. Bringing someone in that can't clearly beat out Holiday or Payton isn't in their plans IMO.

I think they are confident in Holiday and Cam eventually coming back. Not sure beating either of them out is a criteria the Suns care about right now. Now if someone fell into their lap I am sure they would take them.

The Suns have been waiting for a reason.

Maybe they are satisfied with their trio of backup point guards (Payne, Holiday and Payton) or they are hoping someone better gets bought out or waived.

Well, yeah, that's why I don't think we'll be signing any of the guys currently available or the recently available players that we didn't go after. If someone can't beat out Payton or Holiday for playing time, there's no need to make a move as long as they are confident that Holiday is all right and Payne soon will be.

But if they have doubts about the health of CamP and Holiday, we'd have to lower our standards a bit and take the best available ball handler.

I've been there for awhile. If the Suns add a point guard, he only has to be better than Payton.

Morant will be this generations' Jordan.
That thought has actually started rumbling about my brain.

It’s not just his wow plays. It’s his overall IMPACT on the game. He immediately took a team from awful to 8 seed to possibly 2 seed in the West in 3 years.

Now, they’ve got a a solid cast around him, but it’s far from spectacular and he is just eye popping out there.
