Alternatively, could we sign him and then tell him to stay home a la Crowder? Might be worth the cost. ;) Somehow, I don’t think the PA would let us get away with that.

A little off topic.. Since we are talking Crowder sitting at home. if we did win a ring.. does that mean Crowder gets one also? And if we did the same to Pat Bev does he get one also? Lol

That's a good question. I suspect not though.

Lol I know it ls not going to happen just thought it would be funny if we signed Pat Bev and have him sit at home like Crowder. Then both of them gets rings for not even playing a minute with the team.

Since Jae Crowder was on the Suns 2022-23 roster, if they win a championship, I don't see why he wouldn't.

I have the impression that a number of teams are cutting useful players loose in order to save money. A good example is the Magic throwing away this Terrence Ross. I can see why they did that: the Magic have no hope of making the playoffs, much less winning them. They are giving up, with their owners consolidating financially in this increasingly bad economy.
Has nothing to do with the economy. This happens almost every year. Only difference is there seemed to be a lot more trades this year. And more blockbusters.

Man that would be a total travesty.

I haven't researched it, but I think it works that way.

Too bad the Suns didn't trade Crowder earlier for a useable player instead of as a throw-in.

I don't have a lot of confidence in Cam Payne staying healthy. I am still concerned about this position.

I don’t think anyone was offering much for crowder.

It's up to the team to decide who gets rings should they win. Not sure I'd really want the team to omit him and seem petty.
Petty to not give a ring to a guy who didn’t play a single minute in the season despite not being injured?

I agree with the sentiment of not giving him one, I'd rather the team just be above it. Who knows what the future holds, better to try to mend bridges than burn them.
I don't really care one way or the other but keep in mind Jae had absolutely nothing to do with this franchise, this season. It's one thing to not play in the games but he wasn't a part of the team in any way, not for workouts and not to support what would have been his teammates. I guess the team can vote to give him one if they want to but knowing what little we do about Jae, would anyone be shocked if he refused to take it?

No practice. No play. No ring.

It’s not petty to not give him one. It’s petty to not suit up for you team that has still paid you. I think that’s more than fair.

I don't think so either but I think the Suns could have received a role player for him at a position of need.
He was an important part of making salaries match in the Durant trade. Without him we would have had too much salary coming back than being sent out to make the trade work.

I would give him one. Only difference is that I would design the ring with the total number of games played during the season on the inside. That way..... He knows.

I read that James Jones was reluctant to include Crowder in the trade as he had plans to move him for more depth. Also, he appeared to be a part of the trade for John Collins which was under consideration.

Mavs getting destroyed by the T-Wolves right now. Luka and Kyrie having subpar games as well.
