I'm the opposite. I called the Porizingis trade a big mistake at the time but other than the off the court Kyrie issues, I thought this one had potential to put a star next to their fat guy.

KP never recovered from getting hurt. He had so much damn talent too. That really sucks to see that. I was watching old Penny Hardaway videos on YouTube the other day and holy hell was he special.

Kyrie isn’t really the problem in Dallas. Eventually people need to start looking at Luka. From all the rumors he’s the one getting called out by his teammates in these meetings.

He's not necessarily the problem but he was never going to be the solution.

Even ignoring all the drama Kyrie brings, the Mavs needed defense and off ball guys to put around Luka, instead of improving there they basically purged their roster of all of it.

Luka and another ball dominant guard was always going to be a terrible pairing. Kyrie doesn't do a lot when the ball isn't in his hands and Luka does less than nothing, if he doesn't have the ball of offense he basically just stands flat footed, 6 feet beyond the arc and watches the play.

I thought Porzingis had a chance to be good if he recovered, whereas I don't like the baggage Kyrie seems to bring.
In limited viewings, I thought he was great and was only going to get better. But when I started listening to Phil Jackson, I changed my opinion of him. Between his brother/manager, his ego, his diva nature and injury risks, I would have stayed far away from him. But Cuban was understandably in a tough spot, needing to put another star next to Luka.

The Mavericks putting forwards around Luka who could shoot wasn't the worst idea. Of course, losing Brunson was a blow.

Anyone, what is Luka's trade value?

Dallas is resting half their starters in a must win game. They want to lose. Hilarious. Never thought I’d see a team give up while being one game out right at the end of the season.

I bet they win anyway, they’ve been better with one of kyrie or Luka out.
Scuttle but is they want to keep their first round pick.

The problem is that they swung for the fences on a guy that has red flags. They also took a swing when they traded for Porzingis, but he is a another guy with some real flaws as well. Taking sings and failing will only keep someone around for so long.

They even tried Kemba as well. They were desperate and made desperate moves.

He seems to finally be coming around back from that injury.

Actually, the Mavericks-Bulls game might be must watch. I don't think I have it though.

I mean, it’s now okay to explicitly state you’re not trying to make the playoffs?

The Maverick's end to the season gives the appearance it is okay to overtly tank. At least before, there used to be a pretense of trying to win.

I at least hope Luka Doncic met personally with those folks who the "I Feel Slovenia" night was all about.

I think this kills them.

This is why a team needs to fill both two-way roster slots. They provide ready depth if a player is injured.

Would someone do me a favor and remind me what directions the playoff brackets progressively go in? By which I mean which series winner faces which other series winner, including in the bubble. I frequrntly forget.
1-8 plays the winner of 4-5
2-7 plays the winner of 3-6

The NBA does not reseed after rounds if upsets happen.
