I wonder if we the Suns could potentially grab Lowry. I can't see Portland keeping him, he'd be a buy out. I know we can't sign players who make more than the MLE if they're bought out during the season but if he's bought out during the off-season he should be free to sign anywhere.

Lowry is one tough cookie. If the Suns could find a way to snag him after a buyout, I’m all for it.

I just dont see a need for Lowry, we moved on from cp3. Their roles/function were just about the same for their respective teams last season and its time for them to retire. Our top 3 players are veterans at this point and hopefully they're enough to be leaders...either Book or Beal mostly.

I mean CP was our primary playmaker last year (at least while he was on the court). Lowry was much more a secondary playmaker for his team last year and it wouldn't hurt to have him coming off the bench for us this next season.

I just saw a podcast based on Bobby Marks info and the first and second apron stuff is phased in. So this year the Suns can aggregate multiple players in a trade. Next NBA year they would not be able to in their currently being over the second Apron. So we could do an Ayton trade packaging a couple players. It wouldn't help salary wise, but could be a sweetener in a deal. Like adding Camara to help a team go through with the trade. We have five second round picks left, since one went to San Antonio in the Cam trade.

It would be nice to get a spinoff player from a larger trade. The Suns will need to find future rotation players they can keep on multiyear contracts.

I think the key for the Suns long term is finding players in the draft, even though they will be drafting late.

Or they could stick to the formula of trading older HOF players, like CP3, for younger Allstars like Bradley Beal.

My guess is the Suns will now switch gears into player development and try to be opportunistic in trades.

Hopefully, the Suns rebuild around their stars in the coming years.

If I were Mat Ishbia and James Jones, I'd want to be the best scouting and player development franchise around.

He keeps saying he wants to be the best at every aspect of the Suns franchise. With some leaders that is usually a lip service thing they say. From the way things are moving over there, I actually believe him. That hire of top marketing talent yesterday should not be over looked. This is a guy who could go to work for any Fortune 500 company he wants. I love that move. This is aggressive action by Ishbia for sure!

I am wondering the story on Bismack. Maybe he doesn't fit our system under Vogel. The guy can shot block. You hear stories about players telling their agents they want to be in X city, or whatever. I know charity wise he has a lot going on. It would be cool if someone in the press did a story on what he's doing and if he is actively looking to play this season.

Bizmak is a decent backup but he's stiff and slow. Every big we just picked up will be better backups.
Love everything about that dudes attitude. I would have let him sit at the end of the bench forever, but we are better off now.

As soon as I saw Ishbia grabbing up the coaches like he did, I said to myself "GG if he goes after players like this we gonna be ok."
Welp he did and is. Not only did he fill the bench unit, he WELL exceeded my expectations of the quality of players he pulled. It may be James Jones pulling the trigger on the trades but Ishbia is letting him. I will remember all he has done and maybe give him a break if he Fs something up.
