Vassell is a good player with a similar trajectory as Mikal through 3 season imo(Vassell also was 2 years younger coming into the league). The contract is also structured so that the highest cap hit is in the first year of the deal and it reduces every year after that. There were plenty of people who questioned Mikal getting 20mil per and now it is considered the best deal in the league, I expect the same to happen with Vassell. I question using one of their 5th year slots on him more so than the dollar amount.

How does something like that happen? How is the league so stupid with their scheduling? 3 games in 4 nights in the stinking preseason... take what is meant to be "shake some rust" games and turn it into a grind.

I could see it if they were overseas somewhere because that would knock the games out quick and give the players some time after. It's not that bad as is since they played in Boston today and tomorrow in New York and then Wednesday in Philadelphia. Odds are they'll be able to be at home before and after all those games since that's not much of a distance. Still I'm glad that isn't us. Its only 210 miles arena to arena from TD Garden to MSG and another 100 miles from MSG to Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.

You better believe their main guys won't play much. Even if they were one of the dumb teams that takes the preseason serious, this schedule would make it so you had to stagger your roster.

The point isn't about travel distance or anything like that. Preseason is meant to be a period of evaluation and prep work... how much can you prep and evaluate when you're playing 3 games in 4 nights? It's just stupid.

My stance on preseason is that it's the absolute worst and completely unnecessary. When you do idiot scheduling like this... it takes the weak logic behind having these games at all and craps on it.

I watched some of that game yesterday. I got the feeling the way they talked about the preseason games that teams have a lot of say. We play 5 games, and they said no one does that anymore, but the Suns wanted to do that.

Side note, I noticed how the Celtics centers played worse than ours, but they are one of the top teams. Not seeing a lot of center play better than our guys.

About a month ago he went live on social media and had a weird rant. Said he’d beat LeBron. And he’s better than some other players like Lemelo and I forgot who the other guy was. He’s a weird guy.

I remember reading a crazy statistic a few years ago that 33% of American men who are 6'10" or taller will play in the NBA. I'm a little curious is that research what percentage it'll be in 10 years because the league is trending smaller but height always gets attention.

I worked a few months with a 6'10 athlete. An injury forced him out of the game but when he recovered fully he went back to the sport as a Minor League Pitcher.
