Yet another awful chapter in the saga of how badly the Suns were at scouting and selecting guys during the Sarver era. The one out of the park hit with Booker notwithstanding, I still can't believe how egregiously bad they were using all of those high draft picks.

Passing on Haliburton was worse than the 16’ and 17’ drafts. It probably cost us a title one of those years. And before ppl say he didn’t like the potential fit here he ended up going to a team with De’Aaron Fox. We picked a dude who will be a career depth piece.

That's more the reason to do it. Also, 2nd round picks proved useful in acquiring Bradley Beal.
I'm not saying 2nd round picks have zero value, just that I don't place the same level of importance on them that some do.

There's a Sam Elliott line in "We Were Soldiers" that says it well. When Mel Gibson suggests he should start carrying an M-16 because combat was imminent, Sam replied "if the time comes I need one, there'll be plenty lying on the ground". They're nice to have in the pocket but easy to pick up when you need one.

The Suns made some first round pick swaps to have some second round picks lying around if they are needed.

Yeah but AFAIC that's evidence of what I'm saying. Those were significantly devalued first round picks that we sent out. The new rules might make it a little harder for us going forward to buy second round picks but I think one way or another we'll be able to add them when we need them. We might have to overpay to get them if we have an immediate need for them so I'm glad we picked some up but I wouldn't have lost sleep if the 2nd round cupboard was bare.

The point I was making, whether the first round picks were devalued or not, the Suns saw the worth in trading for them, so they were available like in your analogy.

Now let's discuss something really important, like what we had for breakfast.

The Rockets are trading Kevin Porter Jr. to OKC.

Little surprised the Thunder are giving up on JRE. He started 20 games for them last year. He did seem to regress a little statistically. For a team with so many picks though they can't afford to keep and develop them all. He'll probably catch on in Houston as a PF. Oladipo might be waived.

Nobody cares what we had for breakfast. I'm sure they're dying to know what we're having for lunch though. At our house, we're doing take out Garlic Chicken, Kung Pau Chicken and Mandarin Chicken from a hole in the wall take out place.

For convenience reasons we'd switched from mom and pop places to Panda Express a few decades ago and until we tried this place for our cheat day last month, I had forgotten just how great Chinese Food can be. We plan on rewatching the first quarter of last night's game while we feast.

Hole in the wall Chinese food places are so much better than Panda Express. AFAIC the only thing Panda has going for it is their fried rice and chow mein is second to none. Their entrees leave a lot to be desired though.

There are very few Chinese restaurants in our area but innumerable Mexican food restaurants.

Yeah. We have 5 outstanding Mexican restaurants within minutes of our house, one incredible Indian Restaurant, one delicious Lebanese Restaurant, one outstanding Chinese Restaurant and the rest are all chain restaurants. And of the chains, the only ones we'd eat at are Mimi's and BJ's. And did I mention, we'll be watching yesterday's Suns game while chowing down?

It would make life easier to dislike Nikola Jokic, but I can't when he says things like this.

This is disappointing... So the woman that KPJ allegedly beat is now making contradictory claims and saying KPJ didn't punch her. SMH, really hate to see stories like this play out.

I don't think that's the case. Her family is well off. She just seems to be like most victims of spousal abuse where they keep going back to their abuser. It's sad and it's also infuriating as a spectator that wants to see justice prevail. Unfortunately I've seen it happen too many times in real life that I'm not surprised to see it happen with pseudo-celebrities. No matter how often it happens, it's always disheartening.

Yeah. I've seen this play out. It's awful.

Most guys that feel empowered enough to beat the hell out of a girl probably actually have convinced the girl that they "love" them and that any abuse is somehow deserved.

This pile of trash I know that beat up a girl more than once loved to tell her "I'd never hurt you! You know I'd never hurt you!" while she's still sporting bruises and... somehow, words often speak louder than actions... or fists.

Hmmm. I wish would figure out all this stuff based on the evidence before going with it to the media.

If the Clippers traded for Harden, I think it would weaken their team, so I would welcome it.

in the Kings and Warriors game right now the Kings have Malik Monk wearing 0 and Javale McGee wearing 00. The Warriors have GP2 wearing 0 and Jonathan Kuminga wearing 00. All on the court at the same time.
