I agree, the problem is people are overestimating the quality of the guys that will hit waivers.

The guys getting cut are no better than these guys, and at least the guys you have are known quantities. And the better guys that might hit have to get past the Bears and Texans first.

There are some Eagles possibles. One of Devon Allen and Brittain Covey will get cut. Both are good ST guys. Kentavius Street might not make it on the roster and would be an upgrade for us. Two of Eli Ricks, Mario Goodrich and Makhi Garner probably don't make it either at CB.

Some of these defensive guys would be my bet, although not all of them have Gannon ties and guys like Street are vested.
What may skew this is the position groups we may be looking at. RBs, ILBs, Ss are all spots you sometimes see good players let go.

With so many other teams announcing/leaking many cuts, but AZ silent makes me wonder if Monti is possibly working more trades???????
It is possible I guess.

I expect it has more to do with a new GM and new HC and a roster with little differences between talent levels.

EDIT: More about figuring out how they want to go about the process (I don't want people to think I am criticizing their approach)

Yeah I doubt it. We have like 10 players any other team would want - and those are the ones we are going to want to keep.

Who pray tell do you see us trading- Budda?

Ummmmm....all those day 3 draft picks are used for trades in situations like final cut day. Chargers already traded a kicker for a 7th.

Cards are high on the waiver claim list, so maybe no need to make a trade...just speculating.

Remember the year we drafted Kyler and we have #1 on waivers and were going to add all these decent players?

The guys we claimed were Jeff Holland, Brett Toth, Justin Murray, Jonathan Bullard, Kevin Peterson, Charles Washington.

And that was with #1. This is the most I ever recall us doing.

The following players have been placed on injured reserve and are out for the season, or at least until they receive an injury settlement.

  • RB Marlon Mack
  • OL Pat Elflein
  • CB Rashad Fenton
  • LS Matt Hembrough

I have a feeling we'll be saying hi to a few Titans, Eagles, Browns, and New England castoffs soon.
I have no idea, but the way guys move around (players and coaches) we could pick up a guy from the Jets. And when you look at where he's been, he might have crossed paths with one of our coaches some time ago.

OK But that was also Steve Keim who couldn't identify talent to save his life

Steve had no problem identifying talent...He had an issue identifying talent the team needed. All those ILB's are talented...they just didn't fit what the team needed.

The Cardinals have announced the following cuts or reportedly will cut the following players:

Wait... Brian Cobbs has an agent? At least someone knows who he is.
