That was bad but I'd still lay the blame on Claxton's stupidity. An obvious taunt towards perhaps the most protected player in the game? That's stupidity on steroids.O'Neill, who fumbled two passes in the final minute, ruining any potential chance Nets had.
Kevin Looney with 4 points 20 rebounds and 9 assists. Who need Draymond I guess.
Nick Nurse has been fired by Toronto. Really surprised he was there 5 years, doesn't seem like it was that long.
I think they underperformed after their title win.

I am not going to get into defending Monty right now, I am just not sure Nurse is any better, or that anyone else out there who would be available would be any better.Don't tell any of the Monty doubters that he is available.
I wouldn't suspend him. And if Draymond had just stepped on Sabonis I wouldn't have suspended him either. No matter what punishment they give Embiid though, Claxton deserved the same for being the instigator. In fact, I'd support going even harder after the instigator than the player who responds - as long as there is no attempt to injure like with Draymond. That changes everything.Embiid should be suspended

Doc Rivers is a busy guy. I suspect all he saw was the damning still photo where it appeared that Domantas intentionally locked him up or he just watched one of the replays and missed the view that shows that Greene actually tried to stomp on him, not just walk on him.Doc Rivers mad about the incident with Claxton and Embiid said the NBA has to do something about teams "intentionally goading star players to get them to retalite." Rivers then said people will get mad but Draymond shouldn't have been tossed out of the game, Sabonis caused that and got exactly what he wanted to, Draymond kicked out and suspended.
I think the suspension was deserved but I do agree that teams are doing this on purpose with players they know have a short fuse.
Of course the way they played last night the Warriors might be better off without Draymond
Keep in mind Adam Silver said Draymond's history played a part in the suspension. It wasn't just about one play.Embiid should be suspended

He kicked him, clearly on purpose, in the groin-- and with less provocation. Good grief. If Draymond got suspended, Embiid surely should. The only difference is that Claxton did not roll on the ground and pretend to be injured.I wouldn't suspend him. And if Draymond had just stepped on Sabonis I wouldn't have suspended him either. I'll have to watch it again, it didn't look like all that much when I first saw it and unlike the Kings game all I saw was a few recap videos. I find it difficult to believe though that the kick came with anywhere near the force that Draymond delivered to the chest of Sabonis. Like I've said, it's the obvious attempt to injure that I take issue with on Draymond's actions. He kicked him, clearly on purpose, in the groin-- and with less provocation. Good grief. If Draymond got suspended, Embiid surely should. The only difference is that Claxton did not roll on the ground and pretend to be injured.
Good point but AFAIC the only reason Embiid doesn't have that same kind of history is the treatment he gets. He's one of the fakest and dirtiest players in the history of the game. I didn't think he did all that much on this specific play but I'll have to watch it again to see what I missed - when I initially watched it I thought it looked more like he kicked towards the genitals rather than kicked him in the balls.Keep in mind Adam Silver said Draymond's history played a part in the suspension. It wasn't just about one play.
Like I said, I need to see it again, it didn't look that bad to me at first watch. But regardless I disagree on the provocation. Claxton made a conscious choice to step over him and I see no way to argue otherwise. There is room for argument on what Sabonis actually did. Did he lock him up, some say he did but I just don't think so. But if I'm wrong and he intentionally grabbed ahold of him for any reason other than self-protection, I'd do the same to him as I would Greene. He kicked him, clearly on purpose, in the groin-- and with less provocation. Good grief. If Draymond got suspended, Embiid surely should. The only difference is that Claxton did not roll on the ground and pretend to be injured.
