Jalen Smith signs with the Bulls.

Too bad the Suns didn't see fit to keep the 10th pick around while they sift through crumbs.

Cripes, what has this guy done to earn 9M a year! The NBA is becoming overly absurd.

Criag is probably on his way out, and has to right to earn so much more.

Smith's salary seems about right. The Pacers were loaded with talent and made it to the Eastern Conference Finals.

And again, he barely played in the playoffs. If he was on our team and we signed him to 9m a year without being playable in the playoffs, we'd be screaming about it.

It's not like the Suns had a great bench last season with a 1st round playoff exit with a 0-4 record.

He was behind Siakam, Toppin, and Turner on the depth chart. All more developed. The Suns were unplayable in the playoffs also. Jalen Smith would actually fit well here. Instead we have who at backup PF? I guess James Jones has Ish Wainwright's number.

If he was good, they would have found minutes for him. You may think he's worth 9m a year, that's fine. I don't. We can disagree and it's ok.

This. He looked like he was going to break out after the trade but then fell on the depth chart. That doesn't happen for no reason. He would likely would just be a piece to fill out the roster number requirement. That's not someone who should be getting more than the min IMO.

Everyone knows the rotation is shortened in the playoffs. The Suns depth was pitiful the last two seasons.

Smith would have definitely been a big improvement over Eubanks and he is going to get paid $5 million a season for two years by the Jazz.

The Warriors are now going after Lauri Markkanen per sources.

If Klay plays anything like he has as of late? This will be an anchor for the Mavs. They will have a guy costing them 50 million who can no longer consistently shoot.

I kind of like that move, albeit not the salary. Klay will fit there as a better version of Tim Hardaway Jr, who was damn near unplayable in the playoffs. He provides some shooting in a lineup with Luka, Kyrie, Washington, and Kleber.

The Thunder have improved their team with the addition of Caruso and Hartenstein while keeping their boatload of assets.

This is what the Suns will have to face, good young teams on their way up.

The Thunder have already been down this road. It's great having all that young talent, but if the owner won't spend to keep them that window will close quickly.

He was unplayable in the playoffs, but Chicago do Chicago.

Yep, just dropped 90 million on a dude who was starting and averaged 10-4. From that wacky perspective, 27 million for Jalen Smith seems like a bargain!

They're also trying to give away Zach Lavine and can't find any takers, which will make for a fun locker room situation if he returns next season.

And they gave up their best defender and shooter for a guy who doesn't defend or shoot.

Should be a fun season for them.

Eh… it’s only 16.5 per season for three years. That’s not a killer. After two seasons, he’ll be an expiring.

That said, I don’t think it really moves the needle for them. He’s now a really streaky shooter (39% from 3 for the year but was totally hit or miss) and a ghost on D.

Giddey doesn't shoot but he does defend and is a pretty decent defender. Not sure why you'd say he doesn't defend.

He's also deep in his own head. Golden State fans cheered him and tried to bring him up no matter how bad he was playing, I suspect Dallas fans will not be so loving when Klay goes 3-13... Luka probably won't either.

OKC has consistently given up less points when Giddy is on the bench. His defensive rating is worse than his offensive rating.

He can rebound and he can pass, he pretty much sucks at everything else.

It's going to be hilarious when Chicago signs him to a 100+ million dollar extension only to discover that if he isn't surrounded by shooters he is worthless.

With all those assets, perhaps the Thunder plan to stay on top with a perpetual pipeline of young talent.

He has the 3rd highest defensive win shares on the team, behind SGA and Chet. He isn't much of an offensive threat and it's likely Chicago over pays him but I can see him working there like Lonzo did before his body fell apart. We'll see but it was a reasonable move. The other moves they've made have been Moe questionable.
