I think it's that and I've heard his delivery described as deliberate.

Also, he had four season-ending injuries at Indiana, which sounds bad. Both ACLs and both AC joints.

His Bleacher Report scouting report makes him sound like Jeff George.
Agree. It's the combination of injuries along with his delivery that is going to prevent him from being in the top 10. That said, he is probably QB 4 for a lot of teams which is a nice spot. I would think several teams would be happy to see him available in round 2.

last night was the best Ive seen it -- and the best his accuracy has been as well

Would you take a mid round pick for the injured OL Zinter even though he would probably miss all of 2024

All season long the Washington QB, imo, has looked great. But, he doesn't seem to be considered a top three QB for the Draft. Where does he stand?
He has as much talent as the top 3 guys, maybe more. The issue is 2 ACL tears. When you get one there’s a 15% chance of doing it again. I can find no stats on players with 2 tears. They rarely continue to compete. I think he still goes top 12. Teams are just worried about a catastrophic cash & cap loss.

@Harry I followed up on your assessment of Centers in this year's draft. Slim pickings indeed. Aside from the WR group, what other groups in this draft look good to you?
Great draft for OTs, CBs, Edges(hard to rate) and fairly good for Safeties. Guards and LBs and DIs are decent. TEs, C and FB(H) are short on quality depth, though a few top TEs exist.

Tua is proof than Penix could work in the NFL. Really needs to land an offensive wiz though.

Vikings would be interesting even if he backs up Kirk one year.
Isn't Cousins a FA? I don't think he's signing another 1 year deal, knowing he's just a placeholder.

Quick release, pinpoint accuracy, major injury history.
Has a rocket arm unlike Tua & he has a quicker release than Tua while Tua was the better MOF thrower while Penix is the better thrower outside the hash.

Even with the injury history, if Penix was a righty, no one would think of Tua as the comp lol

I just think of them together because Tua is the main pocket passer taking deep shots this season. But you're right about the differences.
