Pass rush - there seem to only be 2 guys worth taking in round 1.

Latu is super interesting - if he could be a double digit sack guy, we need that big time and its a premium position.

Verse - feels a bit more like Will Anderson. High motor and solid vs run and pass but not an elite pass rusher.

He'd be worth taking a chance on with our Texans pick.

Cowherd is really forcing the Chargers are taking Bowers narrative. I know he's close to some people in the organization. Could be selling it though so a team doesnt swap with the Cardinals for the tackle they prefer.

McShay has the Chargers going with Bowers as well

I love the idea of adding a pass rusher with the Texans pick, but there might be a run before the pick because after the top three, there seems to be a drop off.

The 4 top pass rush guys are Verse, Turner, Latu....and Newton the DT from Illinois. You have to include him because interior DLineman that can push the pocket like that and actually get to the QB are very rare.

IMO Verse looks like he has the best shot at being a good NFL pass rusher because he has a great burst off the line, solid pass rushing moves, and a very high motor. You can't teach burst like he has.

Turner is a really good athlete, and will probably be productive, but I dont see him as having any eye popping skill that sets him apart.

Latu is super productive in college..but has major injury history and doesnt seem to have much bend around the edge.

Newton is special. He has legit pass rush skill as a 300 pound DT, and he is also really solid against the run. He can bring pressure up the middle on every pass play...and QB's hate pressure up the middle. Im not saying hes Aaron Donald or Warren Sapp...but hes pretty dang good and should be a 3 down player for a long time. Also, there are several other big, run stuffing NT's that we could get later in the draft who would unlock Newton even more.

All that being said, I wouldnt take any of these guys at 4...but if we trade back past #10..I would take Verse or Newton. If Latu or Turner make it to the Texans pick, they would be solid value there.

What does New England do at quarterback then?
I know most NE fans do not think that the #3 QB taken will be any good, or worthy of a top 3 pick. The idea is to just take the generational wide receiver rather than waste a top pick on an obvious bust.

Who knows how NFL scouts view Daniels. If his tape isn't as good as his media hype I think we will have to give NE a lot of assets if we want to trade spots with them and take MHJ.

I'm saying this year, 2023, he had a higher pressure rate than Anderson did in 2022.

Alabama essentially had him play the same role as Anderson.
Anderson was rushing from the 3T way more than he should’ve his last year there. I don’t remember seeing Turner do that much, if at all. Bama changed DCs last offseason. Turner did not play the same role Will did(thankfully for Turner’s sake).

As much as I enjoy trolling @GatorAZ about Jayden this concerns me.

Cause I'll admit that watching some of the all 22 clips you'll see a lack of anticipation and some of his passes float. That could spell disaster in the AFC East. He really needs to wow New England in those private workouts. Hope he gets that arm stronger.

Though someone just posted that tweet, I believe the video was from October 5th. It seems to me that some of the shine came off of Williams this season... I wonder whether Spielman, or anyone would rate Williams higher than Manning today? I dunno, I hardly watch CFB myself - just going by what I read and hear!
