Soo far I've watched 2 really good games

Michigan at PSU

Utah at Washington

Just turned on Ole Miss at Georgia
Not a good game. PSU puked this one led by their lead puker James Franklin. Once again incredibly bizarre decisions by Franklin and play calls that make me want to smash the TV. The eater of QBs (Franklin) is destroying another QB in Allar. Allar received an invitation to the Payton Manning QB camp this past Summer (invitations to these camps are highly prized) and Franklin told Allar it would be better if he stayed in State College and worked with his receivers instead. Reviews of this camp by attendees have been raves about how much they learned, especially from the mental side of the game. Yet, Franklin had no problem making a trip with coaches in tow to sessions with Belichick this past Summer.

PSU will never compete for a national championship as long as Franklin is the HC. Thank you for allowing me to get this off my chest and venting my frustrations. By the way, I think Chop Robinson is overrated and will fall in the draft.

Team has no defense so they have to put up 40+ points to win a game... btw, I hate Brian Kelly...

It's great to see JD having so much success. He's certainly improved his draft stock, but any GM that takes him within the 1st 3 rounds should be fired on the spot.

That is always possible. We do have a lousy roster this season, though. I can see Kyler playing good enough to earn another shot next year while the team keeps losing. You're probably right, but there is a possibility that Kyler is "the guy" and we can still draft MHJ. I can hope!

How crazy would this board go if we traded up to get MHJ :D
One can hope for sure. I just see a two game win streak coming. I feel good about today's game, and I'm going to Huston so that's a win...

Ok everybody knows our record when attending, including a game with you Pittsburgh so. I'll just see my way out...:deadhorse2:

I'll be going to my third Cards at Stillers game this year, including ours, and we have yet to win either. I'm better at Philly games--50/50.

Would you consider a trade for a WR? Maybe someone like Pittman Jr?

Depending on where our pick is I still think the Falcons might be looking to move up and get a QB and maybe you can get Drake London from them with their 1st?

No idea but as others have said we have too many small WR's, would love to have both Wilson and a guy like London. No idea what we do with Hollywood, not a big game at all today but we'll see how that goes the rest of the year. I like Pittman too but I also like Alec Pierce from the Colts who seems to be the odd man out in their offense so far. Another big target guy.

I don't know much about Pierce...I'll have to look him up.

Side note.
Any of you guys interested.... watch last seasons Georgia vs Ohio state...
The Georgia RT in that game is Amarius Mims... not a ton of tape on him because this year was his first as a starter and he got a high ankle sprain in like week 2... but OSU threw everyone they had at him and Mims dominated all those first day draft picks.
The kid is raw but he has quick feet...6"8. 335lbs. 14% body fat...
Needs development but probably has the highest ceiling of any OT in the 2024 draft.... dude was pegged as a top 15 pick even when he was a backup.
Watch the game...then catch some interviews and you will see a humble hard working kid with a team first attitude and the willingness to earn his opportunities

I would rather sign him vs Brown. Regardless, I think we will be in a good position to draft a WR with one of our top three picks. Sometimes the draft lines up where best players on the board are your positions of need.

Murray does seem to like bigger WRs. We need legit speed at WR that isn't sub 5'10

It can be argued, with so many picks (we have a ton), that there are only so many rookies you can add to your roster. Trading up wouldn't be the end of the world, depending on how much we have to give up.
They could also trade for picks the following year

Targeting high cost, premium position players in free agency is a fools errand. You're going to have to commit big contracts to wide receivers, left tackles, cornerbacks, or edge rushers. I just think it's better strategy to target these positions in the draft, and use the draft for the premium positions. It makes more sense to invest your free agency cap dollars in positions, such as interior offensive line, inside linebacker, running back, or depth players.

What about IDL? ARZ is going to need a couple of DT's who can clog up the middle and collapse the pocket.

Ideally you are correct in that premium positions like you mentioned should be priorities in the draft but its also important to build up the lines with talent. A lot of ARZ mid to late round OL / DL draft picks haven't panned out so the search for long term talent continues constantly.

Kinda OT, but what are your thoughts on Tee Higgins and would he be someone you'd target in FA/trade as a #1.
It comes down to cost. I am not sure I am interested in paying any of the FA WRs 18+ per year including Brown. If I am the Cardinals I am planning on grabbing a WR with one of the top three picks regardless of FA. If I decided to move on from Brown, maybe grab another WR in round 3 and sign a mid level FA WR. Mike Evans, Donovan Peoples-Jones, Josh Reynolds, and DJ Chark are all probably more interesting to me than Brown or Higgins at 20+.

This is the guy we need. I mentioned him a few days ago as a 3rd round guy but I think he's going to be one of those guys that rises a lot during the draft process as people catch up with the tape.
