Different players but Michael Vick had mechanics issues for a lot of his career. It's not unheard of for unconventional players to not have great mechanics and to not believe it is a huge priority. I don't know that is the case with Kyler, but it can happen. Personally, I think the mechanics go out the window when Kyler is under pressure.I think Kylers biggest issue is inconsistency in his mechanics. Not just from game to game but from drive to drive. We saw it last Sunday (and in recent weeks) poor feet, not getting set etc. The 2nd pick on Sunday was a good example but we see it lead to inconsistent throws downfield.
It shouldn't still be an issue in year 6.
Tim Tebow also. Even Lamar Jackson has unconventional mechanics. I hate that Kyler taps the ball at the beginning of his throwing routine.Different players but Michael Vick had mechanics issues for a lot of his career. The culture of throwing a screen pass (in third and long )to a receiver with no room to goxc_hide_links_from_guests_guests_error_hide_media
Well, you can make numbers say just about whatever you want them to, but, in this case, I have a hard time believing those numbers.xc_hide_links_from_guests_guests_error_hide_media
A silver lining for an otherwise dark cloud of the last three games. Excited about Williams, Melton, and Rabbit as our DB group.xc_hide_links_from_guests_guests_error_hide_media
the devolution of Kyler's ability to throw accurately downfield is one of the most bewildering things I've ever seen in pro sports... which is saying something considering the teams I've forced myself to follow because I was born in this godforsaken state (sports-wise, anyway).Tim Tebow also. That said, Kyler didn't have mechanical problems with his delivery when he arrived. He had a lightning-fast release and remarkable accuracy down the field. Maybe he needs to go back to working with his dad, but it's just as likely he's been screwed up by Petzing trying to turn him into something he's not.
I think it's because he wasn't scared when he entered the league. These guys are bigger and faster than he expected.the devolution of Kyler's ability to throw accurately downfield is one of the most bewildering things I've ever seen in pro sports... which is saying something considering the teams I've forced myself to follow because I was born in this godforsaken state (sports-wise, anyway).
