In his final rankings before the 2025 NFL Draft, Dane Brugler ranked Princely Umanmielen as the No. 57 overall player.

And we get the 10 ranked Edge 1 pick later, oof

Hope this guy is the real thing or we just brought in another Edge to cut after preseason
I just never liked Princely as much as others. He just doesn't have any trait that screams good NFL player to me. Not real quick, not real strong, not an impressive blend of either.

Another guy that I was less impressed with the more I watched was Kenneth Grant. Just didn't see why he was so highly ranked other than his size and pedigree.

So you like Burch better?

Here’s what I wrote on the day 2 thread.
Burch is a freak. He’s huge, but surprisingly athletic. He’s very strong and can literally trample blockers. He seemed to wear down too easily and I wonder about his conditioning. He’s a really good tackler. If he gets ahold of you it’s over. Likely plays DE and can control edge when at the top of his game. He can rush the passer and simply collapses the pocket by running over people. Like other ball carriers, if he gets ahold of the QB he could damage him; ferocious tackler. He mostly rushes in a straight line. If blockers collapse, he gets to QB quickly. He can be defeated by a blocker who understands leverage. Once disrupted, he may cease attacking. He also fails to pursue on occasion. This pick shows how much confidence Ossenfort has in his coaches. Burch needs to be frequently rotated and rested to recharge. For Bonanza fans, think Hoss Cartwright. If used situationally, this guy could be a weapon of mass destruction.

Nah I’m happy with this. It’s time to finally load up on defense. The talent they’ve fielded the last two seasons on defense has been embarrassing and at best mediocre.

I’ve always wondered how good K1 could be with a legitimate defense. I’m guessing Monti is wondering the same thing.

Between that and the NFL panels praise of him I can dig it. However still wanted a WR.

Remember how pathetically thin of talent our defensive line was last year? A line that was starting Dennis Gardeck as it's top edge rusher, LJ Collier, Roy Lopez and Naquan Jones? A team that was desperately hoping midseason that they had caught lightning in a bottle as a pass rusher with Xavier Thomas?

It was embarrassing what we were rolling out there. Bless their hearts, they played their asses off and played over their heads.

Obviously Gannon and Monti said "Never again". Not only have we improved the starters we have improved the depth across the board. It has gone from the worst part of the team to the strongest part of the team.

Love it. Even though I know nothing about this Burch guy.

I’m not sure what some of you are looking at, this guy is 6’5 280 and runs a 4.6, that’s fast.

He looks like a good Defensive end prospect, not so much an olb. I think he will take over for Calais next year.

But this makes me think zaven has to be going back to ILB

Well that’s awesome - thanks harry. Little more juiced for this pick now. I agree- this is a faith in rallis pick and a challenge to make a kid who has the athletic ability but needs to be utilized correctly

Just to take this point further, the Cards had 0 snaps with 3 of our projected dline starters playing together. Not just 0 games, 0 snaps

We played with backups the entire year and well it showed

I don't like this pick as much as the first two, but don't dislike it, it's not a reach, and he's the type of edge JG seems to like.
If it’s not a reach it is the closest thing to a reach since Monti took over. I mean he’s ranked 115 plus - he is somebody’s baby , and hope it works out for them
