Princely wins on speed and agility. Burch is a rare speed/power combination. At times it looked to me like Burch picked the path of heaviest contact. That will be a harder path in the NFL and we’ll see if he has the agility to adjust. That may be why the Cards seem to be thinking OLB. You let the DL tie up the big blockers and unleash Burch upon the poor RB. I honestly can’t recall seeing this many weapons on a pass rush unit. I liked Princely because I felt they had enough power guys to open up lanes for agility guys. I’m not disappointed they took this guy with Princely gone. In fact I’m hearing they would have taken him anyway.
Thanks

That's what I have been asking and you explained it

would i have preferred Jaylin Noel. WR who went the pick after this one? yes

but, getting an athletic 6-5, 280-ish DE / Edge who was productive playing in major college football is pretty intriguing

I’m not sure what some of you are looking at, this guy is 6’5 280 and runs a 4.6, that’s fast.

He looks like a good Defensive end prospect, not so much an olb. I think he will take over for Calais next year.

But this makes me think zaven has to be going back to ILB
This post deserved a better response from me. Proximo pointed out the speed aspect and that’s crucial. I didn’t do well in Physics, but I do recall the speed of an object increases the force of an impact. Since Burch likes to rush in a straight line his power is enhanced by his speed. When he hit a blocker, he really impacts him. That accounts for why some running back go flying when Burch hits them.

Legitimately believe we would have taken Princely if he didn’t go 2 spots before us

super interested to see how Rallis/Gannon intend to use this guy

this is the second long, 280lb+ player they have invested a premium pick on -- Darius Robinson last year is the other.

players with these builds are typically 4-3 DE builds.

Gannon ran a 4-3 in his years in Philly. He hasnt so much here (although, its a fluid front game to game / down to down it seems)
