if the rams were super serious they'd trade stafford

if they don't think they're making the playoffs this year they might(?) get super serious and tank to go along with their draft picks

if the steelers gave them a haul for stafford...

Eh I think their logic is that they can have their cake and eat it too.

If their passing game can be better this coming season, they are a threat to win it all with the defense they have built.

No matter how you feel about the guy, our success next season rests squarely in Kyler. Last year the O-line held up and the offense scored enough points in most game to produce a win. Defense was the issue. That’s fixed through free agency and the draft. If he’s ineffective or gets hurt, I’m unsure we’ll make it to the promise land. The revamped defense should give us a chance to be competitive in every game.
And there in lies the problem for 2025. We did nothing to improve a , at best, mediocre offense.
It’s still all falls on Kyler’s shoulders. I guess we can pray he goes in the way back machine.

Do the Rams think they're the only team that will be going after the top QB in 2026?

There will be some teams full on tanking this year to get the #1 pick, but Rams will likely start off drafting in the 20s next April.

And can we please see if Arch Manning can put together one successful college season before we anoint him as the next great NFL QB?

omg the hype train is completely, completely out of control for this kid.
I said I had forgotten about the Manning kid, there was No mention of him by my friend.

One thing is sure, the Rams accumulated the necessary assets to move up for the QB they want if they believe it is needed.

This is a weird post to me. Of course they don’t believe that. That’s exactly why they went out to get more draft capital - to be able to hopefully outbid other teams looking to take a QB. Remember, in many drafts there are multiple QBs that go high, so they don’t need to be in the #1 slot. Maybe they target the kid from Clemson if they can’t get to #1 for arch (if arch ends up being that guy).

And the take of arch manning is the tale of virtually every prized QB, be they prospect or starter. And it’s tenfold if you’re a manning. Asking for patience on a QB’s hype is a pursuit of the impossible.

I gave them a B. Love that the D was addressed in both FA and the draft as it was priority number one. Not addressing the OL and WR at all is very concerning to me. Maybe will feel a little better when Hernandez is signed but not feeling great right now. Our WR room is not that good and its success is predicated on significant individual improvement from last year.

We may not be done In regards to the speed receiver and guard slots. As I was reminded last night speaking with Papa CheeseClown, it’s not unusual for there to be some talent that rejoins the market post-draft as some higher wage players may be cut as a result of teams replacing them with younger talent. So it may not be Hernandez or bust at right guard.

I think it's fair to assume that Trey, MHJ, MW, and Zay Jones will all improve next season. OL should be solid, depending on injuries. And running game is an asset. Like many posters have said, it would be nice to pick up another WR, but it looks solid to me.

B+ based solely on passing on Jaylen Noel in round 3. First two picks were excellent. And a couple of the day three picks may eventually be solid starters.

I think the biggest potential source of improvement will come from MHJ, Trey Benson and a reasonably healthy O line.

I think after that -- its hard to expect materially more from Trey and I think Mike Wilson is who he is.

Considering we don’t have a starting right guard and we are relying on an oft-injured right tackle I don’t know how one can make this stake t.

Draft grades, draft grades, draft grades...
soooo many factors play into determining if a guy will be successful...Locations, schemes, personalities...every pick and every player is a crap shoot.

But Monti and JG have a gestalt system in place...they try and address every factor.
By drafting good people, strong character, and focused football players they severely limit personalities and locations from reducing a guys chances to succeed.....while also targeting guys who will fit our schemes.
JG was talking about it the other day... how they look at tape and see what things a guy does well and determine if those particular skills fit with what the team would be asking him to do.
I know it sounds like a DUUUUHHH situation.. but the truth is a lot of teams draft a guy solely on production and athletic profile without ever paying attention to the fact the guy just cant do what they plan to ask him to do....that of course creates bad feelings and deflates motivation and causes a guy to fail...or at least under perform...and in the long run costs him a ton of money as he has to go get a "Prove it" deal in a system that better fits his skills/abilities.
These guys are very good at selecting guys who do what we plan to ask them to do.
Walter Nolen, all around good DT but an excellent penetrator... I really wanted James Pearce in this draft but I been screaming for a penetrating DT for years...and now we have a good one. it may take a year or two but this guy is going to make guys like Sweat and Browning so much better.

Will Johnson...Im not a huge fan...simply because I like man to man high pressure defense and Johnson suxx for man to man... dude would never have made it here when BA was the coach... but JG and NR like to run zone heavy defensive schemes...and Will Johnson was by far the best zone corner in the draft...maybe the best zone corner in the past three or four drafts...with ball skills.... just expect him to get beat once in a while because he went for the ball and missed...it happens to the best of them.

every guy has a role...and has proven he can fill that role at a pretty high level.

Grading today...we are grading strictly on potential...so its hard not to give an "A+"...our guys do their homework

we still need a young OT...an OG,...a speed WR,...and a primary pass rusher.
Based on the roster...I would have taken Mike Green over Will Johnson... but Johnsons ball skills will turn QB pressures into turnovers from time to time.,,, and one can argue that 4 or 5 INT's a season trumps 4 or 5 extra sacks a season.

I like what we came away with...be curious to see what we do after cuts...because right now this looks like a hard roster to make.

I have to give it an A because I was pushing for an elite DT in round 1 for over a decade. I was pushing for Nolen or Grant since January. By God, it actually happened! Then, what really made this draft, IMO, was getting Johnson in Rd 2. Hell, he would not have been a terrible pick for us at #16! IMO, he was the top CB of the draft and I personally am not too worried about his knee. His injuries last year has nothing to do with his knee, just bad luck.

The rest was ok. The most questionable was maybe Burch over Noel but, ok. Love the fact we want a nasty defense.

Meh stafford knows his age and time horizon. Nothingburger. Happens with every player as they reach the end of their career.
stafford is 37 - peyton won mvp at 37 - kurt warner played here at age 37 in 2008 and we went to the superbowl - drew breeze brett favre i won't even mention brady

point is 37 isn't the end for superbowl mvp hof qbs - stafford has to feel the same way - and the rams could legit get a good return if they moved on him now from a team who thinks they can win now - same way the rams did

then the rams can tank and get even more draft picks lol

To be fair, they did draft a G, so you can't say at all.
