Update:

Like I said yesterday from what I was told only Bidwill can screw this up. Not sure how to interpret that but what I was told is that Peyton would like combo of Clark, Wayne, Saturday with him. If Denver agrees to do that but Arizona doesn't maybe the Broncos have the edge. But two legit NFL sources told me that Peyton wants to be here.

I would take Saturday in a freaking HEARTBEAT.

If it takes us signing Clark, Wayne and Saturday to get Manning to come here then do it. All of them would be upgrades if healthy. Let Sendlein be the backup to Saturday for a year to learn all of Peyton's calls and what he wants then let him compete for the job with Saturday next season. Reggie Wayne is clearly and upgrade to Doucet and Clark is atleast as good as Todd Heap.

Agreed with all, but Clark is much better by this point in his career than Todd 'Nothing in the tank' Heap. They had Curtis Painter last year and he was out injured the year before, when he was having a decent year, IIRC.

On radio now. Swears he has a top-notch source. Source texted, "Peyton to AZ. Signing Wed or Thurs." Gambo texted back, "he's signing here?" Source replied "yes, on conference call now."

An hour later, the Gambo talked to the source directly and he said only Bidwill could screw it up by not giving Peyton certain things (other players, etc.) Didn't mention money as a way to derail talks.

Later, Gambo heard from a second independent source inside the Cards that the meeting went really well and that Peyton wants to be here.

He's even heard we may offer a 4 year contract to help spread cap hits out longer to make the numbers work.

All these specifics lead to his tweets yesterday. Admitted to teasing the info while he was still gathering info.

Again, take it for what it is worth, but Gambo is pretty sure it is gonna happen based on the quality of his sources. Going out on a limb a bit more today than yesterday. Called his sources, "Rock solid NFL Guys". If cards are willing to go above and beyond, they can make it happen.

I'm good with bringing in Clark to replace Heap. Both are about the same age, but I go with Clark to get Manning signed. We would probably have to release Lyle Sendlein though because he is making too much money to be a backup.

I heard the same thing Gambo said too. I'm not buying it. Why would this guy spill the beans to Gambo and not Jurecki or Somers? Just seems weird. Sounds like this "rock solid source" was having some fun with Gambo and if bringing Peyton's guys here are the deciding factor forget it. The Cards could probably bring one and that's it. If Manning wants to win AZ should be his choice, if he wants an Indianapolis reunion he should go to Denver.
