We didn’t show it on Sunday but we are T9 in the league in sacks. We get pressure we just can’t cover or stop the run.Pretty hard to play man when you get no pressure on the defensive line. The better your pass rush is the better your secondary is going to be.

SMHthat’s an inflated stat because of getting 8 sacks against NY last week.

My take? Find the best deal and ship him out. This year is a lost rebuilding project. Cards desperately need an insfusion of quality young talent next year.
Does today's loss and the impending loss on Thursday affect whether or not they should keep him? Would love to know what Keim & Michael B are thinking about now.
True. I’ve always hated posters removing any data from an argument to prove a point. That said, I don’t think sacks alone tell the whole story. Occasional sacks don’t offset a general lack of pressure. And that’s what I see when watching the cards. For long stretches there’s zero pressure and QBs carve us up. Then we pop a sack. Now the sacks this year have come with a larger number of strips than I think the norm, so they’ve had big impact, but there’s still a general lack of consistent pressure (at least according to the eyeball test - I’d be interested to see hurries stats). Suggs is a great example of feast or famine. When he feasts it’s like a Caligula orgy, but otherwise it’s like the great potato famine.SMH
An NFL QB on a NFL team was tackled behing the LOS.
"Inflated Stats" = Stats I do not want to recognize.

I was just about to say something similar, I would consider it if we had a real GM that could make it work for us but we don't so, Keim would get a 4th in the 2026 draft and a conditional 7th in the 2021 draft....or he'd just trade straight up for Matt BryantAgreed. I only like this if we had a proven drafter in the gm spot. We do not... So it makes the situation almost impossible imo.
That's not what I question. I'm sure Keim could get a 1st from a contender right now, and may even another 2nd or 3rd. But what I question is who Keim would draft with that pick...I was just about to say something similar, I would consider it if we had a real GM that could make it work for us but we don't so, Keim would get a 4th in the 2026 draft and a conditional 7th in the 2021 draft....or he'd just trade straight up for Matt Bryant
- Plays a more premier position. So if we're talking about trading PP21, why aren't we expelling as much energy talking about trading Chandler Jones? He's older than Peterson, is at worst top-3 at his position like Peterson, and would net us a king's ransom in the trade market.

- Plays a more premier position.
- Has been more consistent than Peterson since he got here.
- Pass-rushers ages better than CBs.
- Chandler hasn’t shown signs of wanting out.
You better hope yesterday wasn’t a preview of Peterson against good CBs from now on.
Has Chandler Jones ever pitched a bitch about being in AZ or demanded a trade or been suspended for PEDS? I do think the answer is no the all the above.
When he feasts it’s like a Caligula orgy, .
I don't get this mentality. I don't. Picks are a crap shoot. You want to trade a proven commodity and position that is rare to find a legit pro bowl caliber player for picks that may or may not turn into anything? The chances of us finding another corner at that level is probably less than 10%.
- I don’t know, I think one of the hardest things to do in this league is to find a guarantee 10+ sacks per year pass-rusher.Finding a 10+ sack/season pass rusher is easier than finding an elite shutdown CB. There are maybe 5 in the league that do it on a consistent basis
Aside from his rookie year and 2014, Peterson has played at an elite level every year. If anything, he's been one of the most consistent CBs in the NFL as his game plan has always been covering half the field and limiting targets in his general direction
Is there data that supports this statement?
This speaks more to fan emotion than anything. There isn't anything today that shows Peterson is actively seeking a way out of AZ like Ramsey. This relationship is entirely reparable if it even needs to be repaired at all.
I thought Peterson was fine yesterday. Most of Thomas's catches were when Peterson was playing 10-15 yards off the line and Brees hit him for quick slants/drags. He also had an athletic INT. Vance has to learn how to use Peterson against elite WRs. He's done his best when he's asked to shadow the opposition's top target.
My point is: I don't want to trade either because both can be cornerstones for a top-tier defense, but if you were so inclined to trade either, you can make equal arguments for why to trade both - pick up significant draft capital for a rebuild.
