Tackling? Defense?

Slaton is great but he's a fake. After his second fumble, he faked that hand injury.

To be fair he was out of the game BEFORE the fumbles because of it but I did wonder after the 2nd one if he decided that by doing that he could get a reprieve for the fumbles.

It's tough, Marshawn Lynch played with a cast for half of last year on his left hand and had a few fumbles, it's critical in ball protection. My big concern with Slaton is his size, I don't think he's a fake, but I did wonder about it a bit too.

Brohm is impressive but he made very few tough throws, guys were just completely uncovered all night. Was like watching a Pac 10 game with so much offense and so little defense.

I'd love to see Cal play either of those teams both might break 50.

There was a lot of sloppy play in the game. Both teams were probably too pumped up for the game. However, I don't think Ohio St. or Michigan are shaking in their shoes.
I'm talking more from a physical standpoint, most of the players looked pretty small to me. Hopefully Louisville loses so we can actually get a real matchup, although at this point it doesn't look like anybody is within two TDs of the Buckeyes.

West Virginia absolutely had not been challenged by anyone this season. They finally come across some marginal competition and they choke.... end of story. Hopefully their stupid fans will crawl back into their holes

Thats mature.

Tough loss. Cant put it on the ground 5 times and expect to win on the road. They will still get a BCS birth and finish 12-1 though.

What is ASU doing this year? ...end of story.

Absolutely agree. This kid's lack of toughness cost WVU the game. Louisville couldn't stop him.

I wouldnt be too hard on Slaton. He showed he cant be stopped. When WVU had the ball int he 3rd quarter and drove 90 yards in 11 plays he wasnt in the game. With him that drive probably takes 3 minutes instead of 6 minutes and 6 plays instead of 11.

Definitley hurt them that he wasnt in there, and the fumbles killed WVU, but he also had 160 yards rushing and 50 yards receiving. He is the real deal.

I'm taking that as a fact you never went to UWV?

figures

Firat off, what does it matter? You wouldnt understand anything about loyalty or tradition so it is probably lost on you, but when you live in a place that has no proffessional sports team and lives and dies with a school, you tend to follow them. The entire state shuts down for WVU games and all games have been sold out since I was a kid. Everywhere you go, people talk about the game and wax poetic about big games past.

Peewee fottball kids, when asked about their favorite players, dont say Payton Manning or Chad Johnson but Major Harris, Steve Slaton, Marc Bulger, and Jake Kelchner.

Being from the biggest band wagon state in the US I can only expect you to make fun of that and have zero idea what I am talking about.

....Oh and for the record, not only did I go to WVU, so did my father, one of my sisters, 2 cousins, etc etc....not that I have any idea why it matters when talking a school you grew up living and dieing with.

Sounds like Boise State games and fans. It's really the only thing going on Sports wise besides some minor leauge stuff. It makes for a great atmosphere and very loyal fans.

I haven't been through there, but I bet it's very similar to Boise as far as dedication for the team.
