With Ball almost certain to go to the Lakers, that gives us a good reason to be glad to get Fox... Ball Kryptonite! Even if the team isn't doing that well, it always boosts our spirits so much to smack the Lakers around. Frankly, since Steve reminded us of the specter of Rich Paul, i'd be glad to have a basketball reason to trade Bledsoe... plus there are always his problematic knees.

Trading Bledsoe for a good 3 D wing and a decent lottery pick could be interesting to me. Take Fox at 4 and Markannen with the other lottery pick. The 3 D player shores up our defense around Booker but still can space the floor, plus there's the added perimeter defense Fox brings. And as Errntknight mentioned, Fox is Lonzo Ball kryptonite so we can terrorize the Lakers for the next several years. Hmmmmnn.....

Maybe the only silver lining for me if we took fox.

Fox is a nice blend of being a good player now with considerable upside. The only thing is it creates a little of bit of a "What do we do about Bled" syndrome.

Well, there is this. His biggest weakness is his horrible shooting percentage from 3 and most scouts tend to focus on free throws to estimate NBA distance potential. If his low percentage is a matter of body strength, common at that age, it's not unreasonable to infer significant improvement based on his .739 free throw rate.

It's annoying that the Suns continue to suffer through bad lottery luck, but I don't think it's that great a loss. I will go on record as saying I think Ball will be a bust. Fultz, Jackson, and Tatum all look like solid prospects to me. (I haven't looked at Fox.) Given that we can trust the Lakers to take Ball, one of the other three has to fall to the Suns. Maybe "everyone" has been saying that it's a three-player draft, but it seems to me that the names in the 3-5 range are moving around pretty fluidly.
The only good thing about this draft is Ball should be gone. I can not see the Suns taking a player that shoots less then 50 percent from the foul line. Tatum would be my pick.

For what it's worth, Jay Bilas had Jackson 4th on his board in the ESPN draft show. I can't remember whether Tatum or Fox was 3rd.

He had Tatum 3rd.

Yes, he did and I'm not surprised as he often had Jayson even higher during the season. Fortunately, reasonable minds can agree to disagree about ratings from an analyst that bleeds Duke blue.

I think Jackson has nowhere to go but up with his free throw shooting..I hope he could bring it up to 70% or better. Plus he wouldn't be a primary scorer for now so he wouldn't be shooting free throws as much as Booker or Bledsoe.

Three of the following four players should be there at #4: Fox, Jackson, Tatum, Isaac or Markkanen.

Life is not so bad.

If Fox is there, the Suns may consider a trade-down.

Except Philly mtl will go with Fox.
Expect, Fultz, Ball and Fox...1,2,3.

I'd be fine with either Jackson or Tatum, and maybe Issac, but I also wouldn't frown at a trade if we got good value for it and filled some needs. Maybe a promising young big? I'm not sold on Len being our future at center.

Look, I like Lauri Markannen, but why is he being mentioned as a possible #4 choice? I will be extremely disappointed if we reached for him there.

He would be a trade-down option. I think the Suns might look at drafting him or another player if they trade-down down from #4. It would all depend on how the draft unfolds. The Suns will likely draft at #4 but never say never.

Clearly you and most everyone else sees it otherwise but I'll be very surprised if 15 years from now he isn't considered one of the top 5 players from this class. I haven't been pushing for him very much but only because I'm very aware that usually, when the vast majority of people see things differently than you do, it's time to re-think what you think you see.

I love that you argue vociferously that there's not a huge gap between jackson and fox but are incredulous that someone might consider markenaan at 4.

Please. You actually think Markannen is worthy of #4? I think he's more around 9 or 10. Instead of personally attacking me, provide a counter-argument. If you can.

Assuming we keep Bledsoe, where do you see this teams greatest need? At center? Playing Warren and Chriss as full time forwards with Bender waiting in the wings? Or at 4, with Warren and Chriss both splitting time at 3 and with MC getting time at 5 as well?

McD said that our biggest need by far in the draft is perimeter wing defense. Jackson really has to be the target. If we don't get him, and get someone like Isaac, we'll have to rehire D'Antoni to outscore everyone 140-130 every game.

For the record, Jackson IS #1 on my board. However, Fox is close in line with Tatum and Isaac bringing up the rear (so far). Markannen a) doesn't fill a need and b) isn't worth a #4.

As far as needs go, we have no glaring need, except MAYBE center, but that's not a need we will be able to adequately fill in this draft. Beyond that, I think our greatest need is SF. I know people love TJ Warren, but to me he is barely starter quality. There's no dynamic there. He's a workman -- he is solid, but doesn't stand out. Because of that, I don't think he'll ever approach being a star.

I'll admit I love Warren probably more than I should. Who doesn't love his preternatural ability to score from 12' in? He'd be a fine starter if he could ever find a consistent 3-point shot and continues to work on defense.

Unless a team comes along and offers us something great for the pick, then I agree that Jackson should be the guy if he's still on the board. His defensive intensity is something this team desperately needs.

I took some time to watch some videos and read up on some of the prospects. Assuming we keep Bledsoe and aren't looking at point guards, I like Jackson, Isaac, and Markkanen at #4.

If we were drafting 5 or 6 I'd like to take a shot on Isaac. It's been mentioned by quite a few people that he quite possibly has the highest ceiling but he could also be a big bust, which is a reason not to pass on players like Jackson, Fox, or Tatum at #4 to gamble on Isaac.
