still got another half to play--it's been a good game so far despite our dumb mistakes, but that's what football is all about

As a fan, this is all I can hope for--a competitive battle

win or lose, this is my team!

Go Niners!

Onside kick comin lol

9ers have loads of talent, they are just lacking chemistry. It seems they are putting it together tonight pretty well. Their Oline looks really good tonight.

Their D is & has been mucho better than ours for at least 3 years. They attack offenses, we dont and thats the definative differance.

The 9'ers suck less than us, and this is coming from a koolaider.
I understand the hate for the 9ers, but they have the potential to be a very good football team. They have assembled the talent, have done a good job of keeping core players and a nice job filling holes. If they can square away the QB position and fix the coaching problems the 49ers could be good for a long time.

I wonder if Romanowski passed out PHD's to the old Niners at Rice's halftime ceremony?:D

The 49ers look strong in this game. They are winning both sides of the ball at this point. Walker's fumble was Cardinal-esque, however.

Frank Gore and Patrick Willis are elite players to build units around, and the 49ers are building up a very good team talent-wise. Their o-line is going to be scary good...they are good now...but when Iupati and Davis get seasoned, watch out.

I think a lot of this has to do with

a) Retirement of Rice's number
b) MNF
c) Home opener

The crowd is going bonkers and the energy is electric.

Still, 49ers are not a playoff team and the Saints will pull away.

I think the Niners are better than most on our board give them credit for. I believe they will win.

The 49ers are better than us plain and simple. They beat us in years when they suck. They will have no problem handling the Derek Anderson Circus.

49ers making me eat my words right now. The 49ers will win the NFC West and the Seahawks will come 2nd. Their defenses are much better coached.

But it does show how home field helps. I mean the Seahwaks whipped them at home...then goto Denver and looked like crap. Denver gets whipped by Jacksonville on the road....Jacksonville goes on the road and looks bad. Home field is so important in NFL football. We should look good against the Raiders this week end.

Brees checking down, dinking and dunking all over the field, right into the end zone. Thank you Ken Whisenhunt for a wasted season.

I knew this game would be close because the 49ers eat that kind of passing game for lunch, the only thing open is dinking and dunking, errr checking down which is exactly what Matt knew he'd have to do to beat blitzes forever all year because Warner owned teams that blitzed, otherwise without him, that's all they are going to do to us unless our WR's beat it by making short completions into long ones because they blitzed us and are vulnerable.

It was pretty obvious and perplexing as to why people hated on it so much.

They aint gonna just let Fitz gallop free and they aint gonna let you have time to just toss it up there, they are going to come after you fast, the only choice you have is to get rid of it fast, and it was so silly to see people complain about that.

The problem is...That is the offense. Leinart Dinked and Dunked because he threw to the 4th option. If teams blitzed us...he wouldn't have time to see the 4th option. That is why he got sacked alot. His ability was show cased in pre season. He completed 3 passes in 3 plays and we punted!
