Yeah I remember many on this board laughing at Mitch's prediction of watch out for the Rams this year in preseason as well.

The 49ers coming bro & a couple of good moves in the offseason & Big Red are cellar dwellers next season.

Again do you see any semblance of a plan from Keim going into next year? Oh btw our drafting has been less than desirable over the last 3 years other than a few picks. Alarming especially in the early rounds that make winners or losers.

That's the circle of life in the NFL. Your bad then get good then get bad then get good. The only teams that have any kind of long term winning are those that drafted franchise QBs early.

We pretty much been above average to contenders for the last decade. We built our team off veterans heck Carson Palmer was considered old when we traded for him. We had a window now it's closed time to build up again. Let's wait and see.

Wasn't that long ago when SF was on top playing in the super bowl and they've been picking in the top 10 for awhile now. They've been a joke of a franchise lately and they make what's considered a good move now everyone wants the 49ers front office lol.

A lot of people here thinking we were just gonna win 12 games a year for the rest of time lol.

Man I've seen some dark dark days with this team hell dark years and years and this ain't the 90s fellas. Just relax I got faith this team SK and MB will do what it takes to make us contenders again they did it once.

Just relax

The problem with the whole Jimmy G. situation is that, even if the Cards, instead of the Niners, traded for him, BA would likely still want Stanton to start the remainder of this season.

That is good and unfortunately very true!!!

I said at draft time that NE would trade JG in a second if anybody had offered up a #1 pick. This was likely their best offer and accepted since SF will be drafting at the top of round 2. A lot of JG has been media hype. We'll see how it unfolds.

As for Cousins, I think it's a two team race this off season, the Cards and Jags.
I think Cousins will go to Denver before coming here.

Pats traded their 3rd string QB already too, playing with fire having no backup QBs

Heard on the radio today that no Patriot QB traded by B.Belichek has played over .500 for the team they went to.

Billy B. can sell ketchup Popsicles to women in white gloves.

It's a QB starved & driven league so trades for them happen more than we realize including BB. Or so it seems

Matt Cassel was 10-5 in his 2nd year with the Chiefs after being traded by Belichek.

(However, he has never been above .500 in any other year since being traded by the Patriots.)

You will see Jimmy G will be kicking Cardinal ass for years watch.

Again do you see any plan the Cards have to rebuild this roster? At least John Lynch has a plan in place!
Dude, the Niners are about 5 miles behind us in talent. They literally have no consistently good players on the roster in their prime. We have some holes to fill of course but still have PP, Johnson, Golden, Jones, etc.

So glad the Niners got jimmy G, Seachickens get Brown and the Texans moved up in front to grab Watson!

We got Stanton, a siv for a O line and project Lber!

And lets extend a guy with 2 torn acls! and Bethel is a great 2nd cb!

Fire Keim and Arians! Keim cant draft and a Vertical passing game will only kill a qb with this Oline! I hate this team right now

BINGO

We have a winner!!!

You sir are 100% correct

Word on the street is Jimmy G has a handshake agreement to re-sign with the Pats in the offseason.
just read an article saying the reason they went ahead and cut him is because they cant give him what he wants most....playing time.... they were willing to pay him as a starter but wanted him to wait until brady hung up his cleats...JimmyG dont want to wait and the team didnt want to have to franchise him to keep him from walking away...so they took what they could get at the time.

besides,..if he shows a pulse on the field the niners will franchise him

It isn't really all that risky. They get an 8 game audition with a QB that has some experience playing at this level. They rely on their player personnel people to evaluate him and they can then decide what to do. Maybe we feel like giving up a high 2nd is what makes it risky but the player chosen there is no guarantee either.

I don't know if Jimmy will be good or not but this is an interesting move.

The trade makes a lot of sense to me. As AZCB said, they get an eight game audition and if they decide Jimmy is it they throw the money at him to get him to stay or they could even franchise him. If they decide to look elsewhere and Jimmy signs somewhere else they get a nice high draft pick as compensation. I don't see where the Niners lose in this.

it was a great move on their part...the only way they lose is if they sign him huge then he proceeds to suck rocks..
they could even draft a guy with their #1 still....take both guys to camp...pick a guy and trade the other...or even keep a rookie behind jimmyG for a few years as insurance

You will NEVER find the guy if you don't try!

I would rather risk what Frisco did with a ready made QB instead of a totally unproven #1 pick who's gonna break the bank as well.

Not snarky. But how is Jimmy G ready made? Dude has had what, three starts before injuring himself? I can see either argument. I prefer to draft QBOF. The ramifications of failure seem less obtrusive. #TheKolbEffect

NE called San Fran & offered them the Jimmy G deal. Whole conversation took 10 minutes. San Fran was surprised NE called & offered them Garoppolo.

Of course he’s gonna play this year otherwise just a stupid trade!

But he doesn't know all their offense sorta like Gabbert with the Cardinals.

Can't have a new QB winning a game. :p
