You will see Jimmy G will be kicking Cardinal ass for years watch.

Again do you see any plan the Cards have to rebuild this roster? At least John Lynch has a plan in place!
Lol so go be a niners fan. I don’t see that unfolding. They woulda been better off tanking for for season and signing Kirk

Because Jimmy G is going to play this weekend?? On what, 2-3 days of practice & having to learn the playbook? I doubt VERY seriously that he sees the field this week.

Doesn't mean they won't beat the Cards though. That seems VERY possible.
Jacoby Brissette was with Indy for four days when he almost beat cards..

Your assuming that he won't be resigned by the Skins. He's not free yet

Either Shefter is a little weasel and NE's mouthpiece or they royally screwed up not trading him during the draft when his value was higher. Good risk for the Niners as they still have another 2nd rounder. New England needs to rebuild their defense.

How is the timing of this trade on Schefter? lol

I can't stand the guy, btw.

How Keim wasn't in on this is beyond me. Get our QB. Still have our #1 and plenty more picks. Active in FA and we could be good to go.

Kiem knows he's gonna suck. Brissette is going to be much better, IMO.

Lol how many games the Niners win this year? Yeah front office doing a a hell of a job.

Seriously people.

Let's not act like JG has made 5 pro bowls and Gots a ring the sample size is very small and he's gonna want a huge contract at the end of the year. It's very very risky.

Its not. It's on New England.

Shefter was just basically saying he's untouchable.

Schefter doubled down on his report later in the day while speaking on WEEI radio. "I’m just telling you that Jimmy Garoppolo is going to be on the Patriots in 2017,” he said. “No matter who calls, no matter what anybody offers, he’s going to be on the roster this summer.”

Yeah I remember many on this board laughing at Mitch's prediction of watch out for the Rams this year in preseason as well.

The 49ers coming bro & a couple of good moves in the offseason & Big Red are cellar dwellers next season.

Again do you see any semblance of a plan from Keim going into next year? Oh btw our drafting has been less than desirable over the last 3 years other than a few picks. Alarming especially in the early rounds that make winners or losers.

It isn't really all that risky. They get an 8 game audition with a QB that has some experience playing at this level. They rely on their player personnel people to evaluate him and they can then decide what to do. Maybe we feel like giving up a high 2nd is what makes it risky but the player chosen there is no guarantee either.

I don't know if Jimmy will be good or not but this is an interesting move.

Keim has made over 500 roster moves in 5 years. I’d say he’s been very proactive and reactive. Just because he didn’t make the move you wanted doesn’t mean he isn’t proactive.

How does that compare with the league as a whole? I don't know what that means in the big picture.

49ers are coming bro. :hairraise

The FO has a plan even if they don't share it with us. We're going to have the most active offseason we've ever had in the coming months. We're going to have an entirely new offense except for Humphries, DJohnson, and Juron Brown.

Even when he does become "free", is he really worth the money he'll command? Is he really a better option at 30 years old and all that money, versus finding a younger QBoF? I dunno...

So your saying he is 'proactive' but totally incompetent ?

If they had enough of a clue to have a master plan, we'd already be good. Face it, they are incompetent and we won't be any good for 2-3 more years (and longer if they hire people as pathetic as this to replace the pathetic boobs running things right now).

The problem with the whole Jimmy G. situation is that, even if the Cards, instead of the Niners, traded for him, BA would likely still want Stanton to start the remainder of this season.

Hoyer's return to New England 'all but a done deal.'

Mike Reiss says that trading Garoppolo to the 49ers proves the Patriots' confidence in 40-year-old Brady and reports on the near deal to have former backup QB Brian Hoyer back in Foxborough.

I think SK has a plan, there is a reason he is collecting up draft picks. As far as Jimmy G goes, I smell a Kevin Kolb coming the 9ers way. They will have 8 games to evaluate him and then if they're not sold franchise him for another year. Even still it will cost them 24 mil to keep him on their roster. That is not a huge risk if it pans out. I just dont see it.

I said at draft time that NE would trade JG in a second if anybody had offered up a #1 pick. This was likely their best offer and accepted since SF will be drafting at the top of round 2. A lot of JG has been media hype. We'll see how it unfolds.

As for Cousins, I think it's a two team race this off season, the Cards and Jags.

Yup this was mentioned on PFT this morning.

If 9ers cut Hoyer and Pats sign him someone will accuse them of having an illegal side deal. Wonder why Hoyer wasn't part of the deal. Salary?
