With the victory over Denver, the Suns have only 12 games left.

Current percentage: 53-17 or 75.7%
Needed to make 60 wins: 7 of 12 or 58.3%
Magic Number to win Pacific: 2

The Suns are a full game ahead of the Spur and 4 games ahead of the Sonics.

(Sorry Eric, I posted the same time you did)

4.5 games ahead of Sonics. 1/2 game ahead of Heat.

I always like to distinguish whether a half game lead is in the loss column or in the win column. If our lead is in the loss column, we determine our own fate. If its in the win column, we don't.

But since we know that neither team is going to go undefeated the rest of the way, what difference does it really make? This isn't the NFL with only two weeks left to play.

No, but I think we can agree that for these teams, a loss is a much bigger deal than a win, and is also much less frequent.

Now I think we should do one for 62 wins and 63 wins as we attemp to have the best record we've ever had!

GS up by 12 over Rockets with 3 min to go... What's gotten into the Warriors this late in the season?? Don't they want a good chance at the top picks in the draft?

Obviously they think that creating a winning tradition is pretty important. Plus, they have a lot of personnel decisions to make and need to know who to keep.

I think the last time got the Suns attention.

Eric, what do you think of adding the following to your updates:

3-pointers made this season: 686 (avg. 9.4 per game)
Remaining threes to break NBA record: 50 (avg. 6.25 per game)

The record was set by the Dallas Mavericks in the 1995-96 season (735 threes, avg. 8.96 per game).

I just wanted to say that this is the most successfull Suns season I experienced so far following them closly (previous 97-98 with 56 wins).
It's nice to finally get a better winning season.

Sure, okay. Of course, that means I won't be able to "call" games early when the Suns are cruising in a blowout...

The only catch is, I'm going to start with those numbers you just gave me. So if they're wrong, it's your fault. :p

Alert

I'm out of town for about 24 hours starting early this afternoon. So if someone wants to update this after tonight's game, go for it. If no one has done it by tomorrow at about 1:00 p.m. Pacific Daylight/Arizona time, I'll take care of it then.

Don't forgot the holy grail of 63 wins! Also how is Q doing for the most three pointers made and attempted.. I think I can think of a few more records we mgiht break..how about least amount of shot clock used?

The record for threes made is held by Dennis Scott of the Orlando Magic. He made 267 in one season in 95 or 96.

Q made 216 so far. With 8 games to play he'd need to score around 6 threes per game. Extremely unlikely...

Oh, the numbers I gave you really weren't accurate cause the Lakers game wasn't included.

Better late than never the actual numbers:

Threes made 703.
Remaining to break the Mavs' record: 33.
Average needed: 4.13

Should be a walk in the park!

I'll let Michael do the three-point stuff, since he's more on top of it than I could hope to be.
