Personally I love the strategy of drafting two players at positions you HAVE to hit and hedging your bets and doing it the same year so they can come in at same point and compete. I think its becoming a theme with this FO.
Taylor/Ellington Last Year - I am sure with the benefit of hindsight everyone is happy they did this. I guess someone could say just pick Ellington duh but there is guess work always even at the highest level. We maybe starting a new trend here.
Martin/Stinson This Year - Same thing although they are different players. My guess is they both at part of DL rotation rather then the move to OLB that has been discussed.
Brown/Powell - Very similar players with the added bonus that POwell can be a Bethel level ST player. Speed, speed, more speed. Anyone else want to bet that 1 of these 2 has a similar year to TY Hilton his rookie year???
I agree the Powell move is a head scratcher but bottom line is team wanted to add speed and needed to do it at WR. Between Ginn, Brown, and POwell we likely have the fastest 3-4-5 WRs in the NFL. And that is super important to BA's offense. Like someone else said this is like Hilton/Brazil pick.
