The great thing about it is even if Diallo doesn't improve and does prove to be a mistake, he was a cheap mistake. Which is also not something the sun's are used toYeah, Diallo seems like the one miss so far. But it's early so hopefully someone can teach him how to play the game before we find ourselves needing yet another big man. And with the way we draw fouls, that's almost bound to happen sometime.
Keeping himself affordable for later.
I do hope he gets going again since it seems Jerome won't return for a couple more weeks. I hope we'll have Jerome back by the time the homestand is over. That's my own personal estimate of when I'd like to see him debut, the end of this 6 game stretch.
It's hard to say but one of the things that made Jevon Carter effective beyond beyond his defense was the ability to keep defenses honest with his shooting. He doesn't get a lot of assists although he can run a team.
This leaves the door open for Ty Jerome or someone else to step up at point guard. It might force Tyler Johnson to focus on the point guard role again like last season.
I'm not saying he's the best player in the league but when you consider that he WANTS to be here, I wouldn't trade him for anyone. But I wouldn't have traded him for anyone last year either. I've never bought into the narrative that he can't or won't play defense nor did I agree with the naysayers that he was nothing more than an inefficient chucker. As a Phoenix Sun, he was ALWAYS a star in waiting, mostly just waiting for actual NBA teammates.
If we keep this up, Monty has to be a shoe-in for Coach of the Year, right?

Who in this league would you trade Booker for right now?
Anthony Davis . . . hmmm. Giannis. That's about it.
Just the fact they are 3 games above five hundred for the first time in years makes him a front runnerIf we keep this up, Monty has to be a shoe-in for Coach of the Year, right?
Don’t get me wrong but I love carter with what he brings. I don’t think he can sustain those shooting percentages we saw early. I don’t think he can run the team long term. His energy and hustle might be better off in short spurts or situations.
Tyler seems to be the most complete out of the backup guards.
The guy has played a whopping 2 mins thus far this season... Not really sure how a determination can be made as to his value on this team, when he hasn't even been on the court?
It ain't luck, bro.xc_hide_links_from_guests_guests_error_hide_media
He is a vet min player at the end of the bench. Can't really call that a miss. Those guys only play in emergencies. The guy has played a whopping 6 mins thus far this season... Not really sure how a determination can be made as to his value on this team, when he hasn't even been on the court?
For any Sixers fans who might say that we beat them
because they were without their Center Embiid . . . . .
So were we! Here is an interesting stat.
Our journeyman fill-in Center Baynes +/- was a +19 in 31 minutes.
Their journeyman fill-in Center Horford +/- was a -1 in 34 minutes.
The odds were even and the Suns took charge!
Put that in your cheesesteak, Philadelphia!

OK. I agree that his value is not recognized that well across the league yet. Who would YOU trade Book for right now.Not me personally, but most if not all GMs would put Harden above booker. Also Jokic. If we play the Bill Simmons "Who Say No?" game, Booker is also behind Doncic and Williamson. My guess is that, if you were to break it down carefully, he's around 15th-20th in trade value across the league.
I was agreeing with you in your disagreement with Steve. That's my point... I didn't call him a "miss." I think for an end of the bench, last-ditch guy, ya get what ya get...

Harden, I would not. Book is a more complete player at the moment and then there is the age thing and all.
Jokic. Yep. Might do that one.
Donic. Tough one. That's close
Williamson. A month ago, maybe, now? Scared about health.

What I also love about how well the Suns are doing, is look at this thread! Its massive compared to other years game day threads!
