It's frustrating indeed.

For some reason Ayton plays with more intensity in the second half. I'm guessing it's because he received a few words of wisdom at halftime.
I'm guessing its because he doesn't want to foul out. This team has no bigs but Ayton..

I've thought about it from this direction as well but a lot of good centers seem to avoid foul trouble such as Jokic, Embiid and Gobert.

It's the silly fouls that seem to be Ayton's worst enemy. Also the Suns now have a couple of capable backups in Saric and Kaminsky.

Ayton needs to learn to play without picking up the cheap foul.
