This comment made me chuckle and rolle my eyes.On Sixers pregame they just said that Ayton has matured and will give Embiid fits today.
Hasn't Embiid owned Ayton?

really have to hand it to Jones on that draft. To come out of it with two, versatile great bench guys was quite a feat.
man, I hope Stix just needs some seasoning and then can produce either late this year or take a big leap next year. He plays the spot that is the missing piece of this puzzle if he can live up to his potential.
I just don’t see him logging many minutes this season.
This is a GOOD suns team.
defense
two dependable crunch time scorers in book (who is ALL the way back) and Paul.
a very, very deep bench. They pinned 49 points on the sixers. And super Dario!
leadership - just can’t overstate how important Paul has been to this team.
and coaching has really come around. I like that monty is getting looser with rotations and feeling out games. Frank was having a tough go of it today so he didn’t really see much court time after the first quarter.
is this team “special?” Who knows. But compared to the last 10 years? It feels like it. What we can say is, this team IS good.
I keep waiting for Deandre to take off but Chris Paul is the Suns second star now.
Winning is what Devin Booker wants and needs.
Maybe in a couple of seasons Ayton will be there... maybe not. The Suns couldn't wait.
I agree. It's the Paul and Booker show. I'd try to move Ayton for a third star if that's possible. Limited upside and the Suns need to win with Booker in his prime.
It would be interesting to see what the Suns could get for Ayton.
I wouldn’t give up on Ayton unless we had a solution at center. Like if we had traded for capella as Ayton’s replacement.I agree. It's the Paul and Booker show. I'd try to move Ayton for a third star if that's possible. Limited upside and the Suns need to win with Booker in his prime.
That deal would be a pipe dream now.Imagine a three star team like Towns, Booker, Paul with Bridges and Johnson as role players. That's awesome.

We would be better on offense and worse on defense. Overall a better team overall because of Towns ability to create for himself, but a little limited because Towns isn't good on defense.Imagine a three star team like Towns, Booker, Paul with Bridges and Johnson as role players. That's awesome.

Hell, if Ayton just hadn’t regressed to become a non-passing version of Boris Diaw and just stayed where he was last year on offense, we’d be better off.
I'd want some change back like a first round pick.
I wonder what a trade for Nikola Vucevic would look like with the Suns getting picks in return.
The only sample we had on Ayton defensively without Monty was when he was a rookie. Towns is much closer to being set into what he is IMO. Ayton was essentially a moldable piece of clay when Monty got here.but remember, Ayton wasn’t good on D pre-Monty. And Monty has been a big man whisperer his entire career. If Monty and his staff could do just half of what they did with Ayton to Towns, this team would not only be a legit contender but one of the likely two or three favorites.
that’s why it’s so frustrating watching Ayton. If he had taken a step forward on both offense and D (which for the 1st pick in a draft in his third year should be expected) this team wouldn’t have to make any kind of move to make itself better. Hell, if Ayton just hadn’t regressed to become a non-passing version of Boris Diaw and just stayed where he was last year on offense, we’d be better off. But he just looks like he wants NOTHING to do with the ball on offense and come playoffs time, I think that’s what is going to hurt us most.
I would do that trade. Vucevic is nice foreal

The defense and veteran leadership really allows this squad to grind when things aren’t going well. So even when we look bad we somehow stay within reach or even ties like at half today. This was a solid game, especially the second half. I watched it on delay while working out and what stood out to me is that the Suns were just in control in the second half. Took a while for the scoreboard to reflect that, but they were in control. Nothing crazy happened, a random dude didn't get hot from behind the line, Philly didn't play terrible basketball- Suns were just in full control of the game.
