76ers vs Suns SL Game Thread 7/12/18

The 76ers drafted Zhaire Smith with the 16th pick formerly owned by the Suns in the Bridges trade.

Love how you guys are detailed on how the games are going. Haven't had a chance to watch one yet this summer and have always come here to see how the newbies are playing. Keep posting up all the details.

I saw a bit of the second game. Ayton looked like dog poop....and was still really good.

Guards are not finding Ayton again. Harrison seems to change his mind often halfway through a pick and then just... do nothing...

Ayton did have a couple rotation gaffes too, didn't even slightly show on a pick, just followed the center even though our PG got eaten up in the pick, made for a wiiiiide open 3.

People give Bender a lot of crap, and I join in often enough, but damn that kid can play defense. 4:30-ish seconds in, he just showed a textbook example of how to defend when someone is driving in. He did the same thing around the 8 minute mark. Move your feet, keep your arms straight up.

Bender is playing solid for sure.

Ayton is fine. He's a young kid who doesn't know how to do some things yet. He will be just fine. Igor will teach him how to post up and get the ball.

My internet went out for an hour so I couldn't comment during the first half. I'd say the lowlight of the half was a tossup between us not being able to get the ball to Ayton and Fran Fraschilla saying "irregardless".

Suns vs. the 76ers in the last game of the 1st round, going for 4-0. They've had the lead for a long time. Up by 10 -- 47-37 -- with 7:30 to go in the 3rd.

Ayton solid but not spectacular. But he doesn't need to be and being double teamed helps the rest of the team.

Bender not looking bad. OK, I am open to the possibility of Igor developing him as a solid big man backup.
