"Ben plays like he is bored! He has way too much athleticism not to have very good quickness, but he does not show quickness at all. He doesn’t show the quickness out of his stance, in blocking or in running his routes. I’m thinking that he might have a problem learning his assignments, is thinking too much and not just reacting and doing. If that’s not the problem, then he does not have the quickness to be effective at the NFL level. It’s just that simple!
Ben’s pure athleticism warrants him being looked at in this draft, but his lack of quickness, or maybe passion, to play the game gives him only a free agent look-see in a camp. If he has a learning problem, then you have to take that into consideration and just maybe he is worth a late round pick and the practice squad until he can get up to speed. Ben has a long way to go before he can play effectively for a team in the NFL."
The video they showed of him during the draft I have to agree. He may have timed well in the 40 but he just looked plain old slow and cumbersome. Either he just isnt trying, thinking to much, just that non-agile, or a combo of all 3.
He fell to the 7th for a reason. Thats becuase he just wasnt very high on most teams draft boards by their scouts. I am not going to get giddy about a so called steal who whould have went 3-4 rounds before we picked them. like elton Brown, Blackstock, and enter any other player we picked under Greens tenure.
