Man Johnson made two spectactular catches to help us win that game. The one where he was on his knees/falling down was sick.

I know he's often referred to as skillet hands but Sunday he came through. Here's the scary thought. What if we lose him to free agency? Picture a planned 4 receiver set of Boldin, Fitz, ???, & Morey then Boldin or Fitz go down with an injury. Talk about a huge drop off in talent. All of a sudden an asset turns into a liability.

Let's lock up #80 soon, that's assuming he wants to stay here.

This will be an interested story. I wonder how it will unfold. I personally don't think he will be back.

But he is here now and I am happy to have him.

agree

I agree. Having him on the field, or even on the sidelines, makes our offense much better. He's a great injury #2 replacement and he's nice to stretch the field on a 3 receiver set.

nope

Just for the sake of the argument......could anyone see the cards letting boldin or fitz contract run out and them instead sign BJ to a 5-yr deal?

He's our best deep threat...... If the cards let Fitz walk and have Boldin and Bryant locked up I would be ok with that.....Assuming we improve other areas of course.

Winning teams do not need 3 stud wideouts.....and yes I know BJ is a "stud" wideout per say but he could definetly be a #1 on at least half the teams in the league

Hasn't he been rumored to go to Baltimore in this upcoming offseason?

Interesting to see how he plays this weekend...

He figures to have a big game Sunday. If you remember apparently the Ravens are one team that would actively pursue him as a FA he's apparently good friends with several players on the team. So he might really be fired up for this game.

BJ also sucked it up and played despite a pulled hammy.

I think he's emerging to a point where he's starting to deliver on our initial expectations.

We can't lock up everybody during the season. ( In fact, we used so much space, we might extend NOBODY if we don't cut Leckey.) I still say Dansby is the top priority for an extension. Easily.

again - I really don't get this comment which I see more and more here. In 10 games as a number 2 through the last three years when either Fitz or Boldin's been out, BJ has averaged 39 yards a game and .2 TDs - those numbers flat out suck for a #2 in offenses that have been slinging the ball around like ours.

he is what he is - a decent number 3 - and that's about it. Losing him only hurts if the team is so inept (which I don't believe they are) that they can't develop new talent at the position.

Look at the Colts -- they keep Harrison and Wayne -- and cycle no.3s in and out. Stokely, now Gonzalez.

I like BJ, but he is going to get way more money that the Cards can afford to put in one position.

Keep Q and Fitz -- develop (Breaston) or sign a good slot guy ( a Stokely like player)

BJ can become a #2 or #1 on some other team. His dollars go up every week. I'd love to keep him, but realistically he is all but gone.

Is it too early for me to start my DeSean Jackson pimping?

perfect player for the Cards, great punt returner, speed WR, great player but not yet a great WR so he might actually be there when we pick in the 20's this year.

Of course I think we need a CB and a DE more but Jackson is like a Hester level punt returner who can be a huge asset at WR.

Name me the half teams in the league that BJ would be #1 for.

BJ is an average #2, a good #3, and little else. He is too wildly inconsistent for anything more.
