In regards to Murray's extension Keim has done absolutely nothing wrong. We have no idea what's going on behind closed doors and it's completely normal for a deal like this not to get done until July at least.

The Keim beef on this topic is fabricated outrage just to have another pop at him.

It's not just this topic. It's hard to talk about the Cardinals as a team without talking about the GM.

Yes but we all agree he has been terrible drafting
Repeat it constantly won't change anything, just finger crossed he can nail 2 or 3 picks

Not a soul on this board knows what is going on behind the scenes no matter how much they say they do

I with you a 100% on this one. The Cardinals need a good draft.

There isn't a huge difference between 3rd year baker and 3rd year Kyler. The main difference is completion percentage of 62.8 for baker vs 69.2 for Kyler but then Kliff's scheme has a lot of designed short pass plays. Kyler had a 7.8 Adot vs 8.5 for Baker.

But otherwise (Baker left vs Kyler right)

YPG 222.7 vs 248.2 (Brown's are a heavy running team).
TDs 26 vs 26
INTs 8 vs 10
YPA 7.3 vs 7.1
Passer rating 96 vs 100.6
QBR 65.5 vs 61.9
Sacks 26 vs 27
Record 11-5 vs 9-5

But Baker managed to beat the Steelers in his first playoff game with a 3 TD 115 passer rating game.

Kyler is better, but there isn't a big difference between year 3 Baker and year 3 Kyler. I think your comparison holds water.
WhAt AbOuT PfF GrAdEs??!?!?

Also, seems weird not to have rushing totals on there.

It's not weird at all. I'm comparing them like for like as passers.

I could care less if Kyler never ran another yard if he can lead the league as a passer.

Maybe, but both Kyler and Mayfield have plus mobility, which is a major part of the value they add.

Kyler has to, like, surpass 4k yards passing before he can lead the league as a passer.

Probably better to compare them like for like as QUARTERBACKS and FOOTBALL PLAYERS than focus on passing.

I'm not sure what you are doing here. Half of these stats for Kyler are from his second year and half are from his third year.

Also, it seems odd to not count 423 rushing yards and 5 rushing TDs for Kyler last year simply because you don't care about rushing stats for some reason. Would you also ignore Lamar Jackson's rushing yards? Or Josh Allen's?

FWIW, Kyler had 882 passing DYAR, 15.8% passing DVOA, -90 rushing DYAR and -32.8% rushing DVOA in his third season.

Baker had 545 passing DYAR, 5.1% passing DVOA, 13 rushing DYAR, -6.8% rushing DVOA in his third year.

Kyler took a big step forward as a passer last season, but he stunk up the joint as a rusher. He has to find a balance.

Looking at Carrs contract and all the details? If they have to use that as a barometer for Kyler negotiations? Sounds like a good thing. That contract isn’t awful at all as Brit has pointed out.

Took a big step forward for the first 10 games… after that was a disaster.

I'm not sure if losing DeAndre Hopkins made that much of a difference or defenses figured Kyler Murray out.

After the injury:
-1.9% completion percentage
-11.3 passer rating
-1.2 Air yards per attempt
+2.27 rushing YPA

Compared to his season average. I just don't believe that's all losing Hopkins.

The other deals don’t mean much. Kyler and his agent would be idiots not to take a $40m deal annually assuming the guarantees aren’t murky.

Wolf and Luke feel Kylers price tag has gone up between 5-9 million a year already.

This is spin. As Chris and I have been championing since the end of the season, they NEEDED to sign him on Day 1.

People were complaining that Kyler isn't worth 40M. At the going rate, by the time he actually does sign an extension, it will be closer to 50 instead of 40. Keim is mis-managing the player, and the salary cap. You don't think 10M more would be helpful every year going forward to sign another free agent? I sure as hell do.

It would take a breakdown of epic proportions for the Cards not to be able to get anything for Kyler. Yes, I understand that there are questions about his toughness, but he's also shown a ton of potential as well. We have to pay him. Want has nothing to do with it, and if we go with want, we're likely to really mess things up completely.

Every day the Cards wait, the price tag goes up. Trying to make him play a prove it year shows how out of touch they are with the reality of the QB market these days. Kyler is the best young QB we've had by a long shot, and to alienate him more at this point is not only going to cost us more and also create more animosity with a 24 year old kid. Bringing back AJ Green seems like a taunt at this point.

Yeah that's the article I referred to in a new thread. It says is believed he won't play without doesn't quote anybody but my guess is the agent put this out for a reason. Carr extended yesterday and most people look around and see the 2 obvious openings being Seattle and Carolina, with Baker probably going to end up 1 of those 2 places.

So if you are Murray's agent you put this out now so if things fall apart, you can push for a trade before or during the draft.

If Kyler goes away or for free, it might be the final straw that would force me to not support this team until Keim leaves.
