Matt Hasselbeck, Mark Bulger and whoever the 49ers feel like schlepping out onto the field just died a little inside. Adrian's not going anywhere. Ever.

Nice work, FO, and congratulations, AW. No one deserves it more.

Doubt it raises his cap hit. He is already counting 6 mill this year so I doubt he makes more then that in the first year of his new deal. Doubt his new deal would be so front loaded that he counts more then his current 6 mill. I am guessing that this new deal actually lowers his current cap hit slightly.

Ok thanks. Also do you know why sometimes they release the #s right away and other times its "the terms were not disclosed" is there any particular reason for that?

Hey Joe am I right in assuming that a Wilson extension would most likely raise his cap hit? Dont care if it does just wondering if thats correct?

No, probably not.

The numbers are not announced yet, but since contracts are usually backloaded you have to assume that the cap hit deceases, since Wilson goes from the final year on a deal to the first year on a five-year deal.

Holy Crap, finally! This is great news, Graves' approval rating just sky rocketed lol. A-Dub was the most deserving out of all the players, and i'm glad he finally got to prove that with a little patience, comes great rewards!

Depends on the agent. Some agents who are self promoters like to leak the info to the media to show the rest of the league and possible future clients "see what I did".

Also some teams dont like to release the details until it is approved by the league which in Wilsons case it hasnt yet. They do that because sometimes little things might need to be changed for the league to aprove it so they dont want to release incorrect info.

I am sure some here are waiting in the wings to claim the Cards overpaid.

I might be willing, but I don't see a price listed.

Either way, He is a better signing for this team than others......

I'm very happy about this. My next jersey will be #24.

Great news. The one true Cardinal.

If I am going to kick them when they are down I will pat him on the back when he does well.

Good job Rod!

Why couldn't they get Wilson, Dansby and Boldin in a room with their agents and the Cards brass and say, "This is the money we have to sign all 3 of you now lets decide how to slice this cake?

Still good news.

Time to buy my Wilson jersey. I hesitate when buying jerseys because they usually move on.

5 years - 18.5 gauranteed, 37 mill total (if he reaches all incentives which he has to reach in the first 3 years of the deal)

Based on his previous contract, how much of a pay raise is he getting?

Not confirmed yet but I am hearing that his new deal saves us between 500k to 1 mill in cap space this season. Dont have exact structure yet and it could be slightly off but thats what I am hearing.

EDIT - Scratch that it could be a much bigger cap savings then I originally lead onto. Should have just shutup until I got confirmation.
