Greetings birds!

Just came by to say hello and discuss the game. I see a lot of respect around here for the Rams and some not so informed opinion.

I don't like this game at all this week. The Rams are playing elite teams and the offense is getting close, but they aren't ready. Still, this is the game and it's a must win if the Rams intend to fight for the NFCW title this season.

I'm hoping the Rams want it more than the Cards and bring everything they have.

Rams D is mighty. They held Hawks to 18 offensive points and the Steelers to 12. Any thoughts that the Cards will somehow score 24 or whatever I'm seeing are probably unfounded.

No disrespect to Plamer, he's great, or the Cards stars, I stole Fitz in FF, but the Cards have not faced a defense like this one. Not even close.

The Rams are tied for the NFL lead in sacks at 13 and lead in tackles. The three opponents the Cards have faced, COMBINED, have 1 more sack than the Rams.

Only Washington could disrupt them by using 3 TE sets and it seems the Rams adjusted to deal with that. People think the Rams suck against the run. That's history, not reality. Lynch and Bell had OK games on the ground.

The offense this season started without the RB1 Gurley, RB2 Mason, and WR1 Quick. A new OC, new scheme, new QB, and a new o-line with 2 rookies. They have been pretty shaky.

They won't stay that way. Gurley has 6 snaps and will get more this game. Mason is back and not playing injured. The o-line is getting better every week. Foles' stats don't reflect his play, he's dangerous and elusive in the pocket. 1 INT against stout defenses. Quick starting would be huge for Foles.

Austin and Britt are gamers. Austin hasn't seen his number called enough, to say the least. Britt might be playing his best ball ever.

Will it come together this week? It could, but it seems a week or two early for me. If it does, watch out, because this is a deeply talented offense.

The Rams are good at stopping what the Cards are good at doing. The Rams are very good in the red zone where the Cards feast. The Rams WILL disrupt a good passing game with the pass rush and pretty solid secondary. Jenkins can cover anyone and is just getting better. He's not the sharpest tool in the bag though and can blow a coverage now and then. He can't be out played, but he can be tricked into a mistake.

The Rams also feature a top special teams. They are dangerous and will capitalize on any mistakes. Austin is one punt return TD away from the Rams record and he's lost at least 4 to penalties early in his NFL career.

If the Cards score 20, I'll be shocked. Same with the Rams unless it's defense and special teams.

I'm going with the Rams 27 - 17 because I think they will bring the heat on ST and D and capitalise. I think they're pissed about not winning against the Steelers when they owned that game and this is a must win. I can also see Quick, Gurley, and Mason being game changers.

Based on how the Rams performed in their only road game (against an awful team no less) this year I'm not overly concerned. Expect the cards to win pretty decisively but obviously not quite as dominately as they did against the Niners

This game has close, brutally tough fight to the end battle written all over it. Special Teams and Turnovers could very easily decide this game.
If the Cards put up more than 20, I wouldn't be as surprised as you suggest you would be. I think our passing game is elite and well designed. Certainly Palmer will need time, and that is where I have my biggest concerns...
Anyway, I see a 17-10 Cards victory. Should be a great battle!

Somebody call Arians! We're in trouble!

C'mon Rams Fan. I appreciate your grades for your teams but to say your offense is 'dangerous" is a bit much. You scored 6 damn points Sunday. By the way that's the same amount your team scored against us last year. We won that game WITHOUT a QB in YOUR house.

I will be surprised a bit myself if we score more than 24 points. But I will be SHOCKED if the Rams score more than 13.

So the Rams are mad because they lost last week? We're mad too. You know why? Because this team felt they left yards and points on the field and have not played up to their capabilities yet. Imagine that?

Foles is going to see defensive formations and coverage's he has never seen before. Welcome to the "No Fly Zone".

In closing I will say this. Could the Rams win this game? Absolutely. For that to happen the Rams will have to play a perfect game and we will have had to lay an egg. If both teams plays to 100% of their ability, there is no doubt the Cardinals win this game.

That is all.

I suspect the Cards passing attack will look mortal for once this season. Not ineffective, and probably with a lot of yards, but scoring is a different thing.

Looking at the Rams' stats and watching the games are whole different stories. The Steelers have the most prolific passing attack in the game and we held them to 12 points. The secondary has finally matured into being very solid. This hasn't been said about the Rams in a decade.

I wouldn't hang my hat on the Washington game, they were ready and committed every asset they had to the D line and it worked. Rams were not prepared for it. I think they are now.

Dude - I predicted 17 points from our offense. I think our passing game will be better than you think, but I'm also worried about the time Palmer will have. If the Cards put up more than 17 points on offense, it will be a very nice surprise and will make your life miserable as it will equate to a W.

Honestly, I get, sick and tired of opposing fans coming on this board every year. I don't care what your opinions are, you don't know our team and don't know us.

You, or someone like you, comes on here very year and wants to make all nice. I'm not about that. Screw your team and screw you. Your team has destroyed our QBs and I really hope the Cardinals make you and your family miserable. I hope you kick the dog and treat the wife like crap after you lose. I don't just say that, I really hope it happens.

Please don't post here anymore, I'll troll you and just get banned.

you really see a 10 point win... and 27 points for your team... on the road... where you have sucked for years... against what right now is a historically GREAT offense and one of the top D's in the league? And 27 points from an the worst offense in football that scored 10 points versus an awful Washington D and 6 points against another bad Pittsburg D?

I think you're going to be disappointed. You've got a great D line that will present problems and I don't expect the Cards to score 40 again, but your offense flat out sucks and Jeff Fisher is perhaps the most overrated coach in the game right now.

Cards 24 Rams 13

I'm not sure if anyone caught what Arians alluded to in a post game interview. If we thought the Cardinals were sky high for the Niners, just wait for the Rams. The Cardinals no doubt remember that we lost both our QB's against the Rams. Neither injury was due to a dirty hit, but the Cardinals no doubt feel the Rams games cost us a shot at a Championship. The year before that we lost Honey Badger in the Rams game. The Cardinals will be wearing their big boy panties next weekend. I expect the Cardinals game plan will be to come out and send a physical message to the Rams. We won't score 47, but we won't need to either.

You could be right. If the Rams are still playing offense like they have so far, there is little to fear from them. I wouldn't expect a high scoring Cards offense, that's not gonna happen IMHO. The D's you've been schooling aren't in our tier.

However, at some point the Rams are going to be very good on offense and that will be soon. MAYBE even this week. Quick will be back. Mason has been playing injured. Foles was new. The OC and scheme was new. And Gurley just had his first start. My point is only that they are playing bad, worst in the NFL actually, but that's circumstance and not talent. The sky's the limit for this O.

The o line will be a work in progress, but they are OK and getting better every game. Saffold is solid. Brown is being described as a future pro-bowler. Havenstein is playing like a rookie, but a talented rookie. Barnes is good enough. Robinson is struggling despite his monster size and athleticism. We are praying the light comes on for him soon.

Foles has been sacked 5 times in 3 games and we can live with that. Despite the dropped passes and very tough schedule, Foles still has an 87.5 QBR and 62.1 completion %. That's damn good under the circumstances.

The Rams blow on the road, Kirk Cousins posted a 110 QBR vs them, ONE HUNDRED AND TEN! KIRK COUSINS!!!

Last year the Rams lost to the Cards twice, in Stanton/Lindley games! Rams offense has averaged 8 points in the last 2 weeks.

The game has passed Jeff Fischer by, in-fact, it did so nearly a decade ago.

With the caveat "as long as Carson stays healthy", Cardinals win this by at least 17.

Cardinals 34, Rams 13.

Listen Bud, no disrespect intended. I love your optimism because it reminds me a lot of the fans on this board over the years. Wishin and hopin on potential. As Arians has said many times , "Potential will get you fired.".

I really do believe the Rams are moving in the right direction even though it seems they have been moving in the right direction for a long time only to end up sub .500. But not Sunday. Not in our house. Not against this Cardinal team.

No, I don't. I see those points coming from defense and special teams. I will be shocked if the Rams O scores 20, as I said.

If you look at the Rams with a new OC, scheme, QB, o-line and without RB1 RB2, and WR1 and think that's who they are offensively for the season, you are indeed going to be shocked. They are stacked with talent.

Most of us don't think they will be ready offensively until after the bye...but it's possible it can be sooner.

All teams can look great against weak defenses. Only the Niners are in the top half at number 15. This is the real deal. It's not just a D line either, it's the same mistake every fan I've heard from has said and then the secondary shut them down. This is the best D in football, bar none, and few are even close.

Rams D will ensure that this will be a close game. Tough game for sure. Turnovers and mistakes will make the difference.

Is that what I said? Why all the animosity on this board?

I don't think the Rams win with their offense or put up a big score with their offense. NEXT time we meet, it will be a different story.

Yes, the Rams have done a complete rebuild over 3 seasons. This is the end game, not a rebuilding team with no QB. This isn't that team.

Your "best D in football" got 24 dropped on it by the Skins, 31 dropped on it by the not exactly high powered Seahawks, and you held the Steelers to 12 largely because you maimed their QB, Big Ben was on pace for over 300 yards.

Your D is ranked 18th vs by opposing QB rating, Cards are ranked 2nd, you are 21st in yards per carry, Cards are 6th. Your defense is ranked DEAD LAST in opposing QB completion percentage. Basically, unless you get a sack then the opposition is completing a pass.

So, in reality, you have some great guys at hitting the QB... and nothing else... on either side of the ball.

As long as Carson doesn't get wrecked the Cards are going to obliterate the Rams.

Lately, all I hear about is how nasty the Rams D is and every year they're never good enough to win but a few games. You aren't scary and your offense sucks and as I've said in a few threads here, you'll lose by 20 this Sunday.

Hurry up and move to LA so the Cards don't have to fly so far to kick your a$$e$ on the road. Other than that, here's to no injuries.

I can buy the Rams defense. No questions there

However, not sure Foles is the answer. Pretty rare for a team to give up on a young, cheap QB that can play. Yet the Eagles did just that. After a solid first game, Foles has regressed, playing worse in each week. This follows his Philly pattern. The skill people around him are NFL avg at best-- none would be a top 16 player at his position.

Gurley may be something, but unproven right now. Hard to see him having a major impact after only 6 carries last week. I suspect Fischer works him in pretty gradually during the year. Their entire approach to Gurley has been to be patient.

So it feels like the best the Rams could hope for is a low scoring game where a defensive or ST td could win it for them. That could always happen, but that's a tough way to win regularly- especially on the road.

If a Rams fan can't grasp how bad losing your QB can destroy a season, no one can. All this time and talent wasted. I get it.

Seriously, I would not play Palmer. I hope they don't and not because I want a Rams win. I want a Cards race for the NFCW over Niners and Hawks who I hate with a passion. The Cards are ruling the NFCW but, with a grain of salt, playing against weak teams.
