Delicious. Tastes like victory .....with feathers in it.

Never, not in a million years would I have thought I would see what I saw watching yesterday's game.

Never. I still feel like it didn't happen.

And that is why I talk on a message board and work in electrical engineering, and why Bruce Arians is a head coach in the NFL.

Best surprise, and most fun I have had watching a Cardinals game in a while.

I was 100% wrong on Peterson, and 100% admit it. Guy is a freak of a man.

I am rooting for this to continue on.

I said all he needs to do is make the defense respect him and it'll change everything.

I didn't see this coming but he led to Palmer's brilliance in the first half too. The defense really keyed on him quickly

The biggest asset with Adrian Peterson is his power. That was my biggest surprise

Crow chili Monday (and Tuesday and Wednesday, I made a big batch), crow burgers Thursday, crow Sushi Saturday (mmmmm!!) AND I bought a bunch extra for next week because I won't believe it is anything but a blip until I see it again.

Lest we forget
the Bears beat the Ravens
the Giants beat the Broncos
the Jets almost nabbed the Cheatriots and
the 9ers almost took the Redskins

so, 1 game does not a believer make (although I do have all that extra crow on order, if necessary)

One thing I did notice....AP looks big. He is powerful so the Thu g is...if he gets 3 yards and gets hit. He can fall.or push forward for a yard or 2. The difference between a bad RB and a hall of game RB is 2 yards per carry. Actually probably 1.5 yards. If Adrian can Avg 4.5 yards a carry and get 20 Carries. We would take 90 yards and TD every game with our passing game. His threat opens up Larry and John Brown. John Brown gdtting healthy ia huge too. I see though AP getting 100 yards a game because now BA gets to Chuck the ball down the field more. I actually like the throw some bomb mentality but AP needs to run the ball 20-23 times which in turn will open him and our passing game.

Plus he can still cut with that size and power. I don't know how long it will last but he looked as good as ever yesterday. Big spark for the team as well. They believe in him that was easy to see.

I was skeptical for sure but it's one game. He was riding a high and the team was too. Let's see where we are in a few weeks. Until that time? I am excited about the prospects he brings to the team. It was awesome.

still have smething left in terms of acceleration plus he is amazing finding the hole
on his 27 yards td run our previous running backs would have collapsed two yards after the line of scrimmage

I don't want to piss on anyone's parade just yet but to quote Winston Wolf from Pulp Fiction, let's not start sucking each other's junk just yet. It's one game. Who here remembers LaShawn Johnson? 215 yards on 21 carries in a single game. We never heard from him again. So, let's see a few more games like this before we start printing playoff tickets.

What did 'Leshon' Johnson do before that game? Exactly. This is freaking Adrian Peterson... stupid analogy, and if we do not make the playoffs it will be due to Bettcher and Amos and not the hilarious analogy of Peterson being a one hit wonder even at his age after his current performance

It's not difficult math people.

AP is a HOF RB + Starting LT returns + 2nd string LG (upgrade from PS player) + new RG on the Oline = a Very good Running game which allows your HOF WR and Outstanding QB show what they can do.

The only thing that tempers my enthusiasm is:

At one point he had 7 carries for 76 yards.

He finished with 26 carries for 131 yards.

That means after the surprising great start he rushed 19 times for 55 yards.

That's 2.89 yards a carry. On 19 carries. That's a big sample size. And our oline started piling up holding calls. I fear what we saw initially might have been AP shooting his wad and then settling into 2017 cardinals reality. Hoping not, but have that creeping fear.

That's how RB's have a great YPC numbers. A lot of crap and a few big ones. Barry Sanders had the most negative rushes in history.

I think Ouchie's point is more that as the game wore on, Peterson might have worn down. But I think with such a huge lead and us going conservative, the Bucs loaded up on the run and that gave Peterson less room to operate.

I'm still happy as a pig in slop at game one for AP, but I don't begrudge anyone who's hedging a tiny bit right now.

I am not eating any crow. Even drafted him in a fantasy league the past couple of years in a row. I am kicking myself for forgetting to start him on my fantasy team this past weekend though. Doh !!

No it's not a stupid analogy. By this logic, we should have been running wild after we got Emmitt Smith too. Adrian Peterson was something 2 seasons ago but the man is coming off of 2 blown out knees and wasn't even being used in NO and Minnesota didn't even want him anymore. All I'm saying is lets leave the corks on the champagne bottles for now because what's everyone going to say if, say, he comes out next week and has 42 yards on 15 carries? If he comes out and has even close to this past weekend then maybe we might be onto something but it's been 1 freaking game. Oh, and if you didn't like my Johnson correlation, then how about Thomas Jones? He had a fairly decent career but only had 1 good game for us.

Sorry, I'm with JSG. AP is a first ballot HOF RB and so you have to start your analogy there.

Glad he had a good game Sunday but one game does not make a season. If he continues this trend for a few games then I will eat crow.

Smith was two years older than AP when we got him...
