From his twitter feed.

It's funny how some players regardless of age and production get a chance to play. SMDH!! I must've done something wrong! Like not be a pro

I'm just trying to shine I guess

If working hard and striving to be the best is a negative let me know and I'll stop

I wonder if teams value Leadership anymore?!?!

I wonder if teams value being where your supposed to be when your supposed to be there anymore

I may not run a 4.4 no more but I do bring something to the table and it's better than 3/4 of the **** out there right now

So don't ask me if I'm alright!!!

Sad, some players just don't know when their careers are over. It must be really hard to give up the game.

When the game brushes them aside the players are losing the identity they have had since high school. For those who aren't ready to hang up the cleats, I can imagine how devastating it must be.

His last 2 seasons, he looked like John Candy trying to cover Jerry Rice, if he had to pick up a TE in coverage. Really painful to watch. He's done - has been for 2+ years.

I wonder how many players are really able to go out on their own terms. I would think that number is fairly small.

Love the guy's passion. Glad he's confident in his abilities; but if he wants to play on the field, he's gonna have to go to Canada or somewhere else because he doesn't have the cover skills and speed to keep up anymore.

If he promotes himself as a leader, then he should consider coaching.

Jake Plummer did too after he did not approve of the trade :)

Yep. The Broncos wanted to trade him to ??????? I forget.

Jake ended up on my @!%$ list because it came out he didn't put the time in to be a top notch QB.

hes right though, there are older safeties playing still that he could hang with.

There are only 3 DB's on NFL rosters that are 35 or older. Ryan Clark, Charles Woodson and Terence Newman. DB's over the age of 30 are in the definite minority. The oldest DB on the Seahawks is 26. (Per ESPN's NFL roster pages)
He's a definite warrior but age catches up with everyone.

Getting older has been a painful process for A Dub.
It's painful for everyone. Some transition better than others, but let's not pretend like it doesn't suck complete ass.

I think we could also agree that Kurt Warner left on his own terms as well......jerk :)

I wouldn't exactly say so. His injuries and fears for other injuries played a big part. I wouldn't say injuries would be considered leaving on your own terms....

Sad when they don't realize when it's over.

I could agree that the safety we had (forgot name) was frozen out because of the gay things that surfaced online...he could play and was productive.

AW was a solid hitter and more of a LB than a safety. Honestly he sucked in coverage.

It's not the same when your no longer an NFL player....the free meals, the big paycheck, the women and fame all vanish. Now he's just an out of work joe.
