No way. Placeholder, unless that contract is something super stupid.

AJ McCarron deal in Buffalo: Two years, $10 million with $6.5 million upside based on playing time. Per source.

okay... WTF. Now the Bradford signing looks HORRIBLE. He's a perfectly acceptable bridge while allowing the team to use extra cap space to add to a pretty barren roster.

And for anyone saying "he might not have come here!" If that's true... with an MVP running back, a HOF WR for at least a year, MUCH better weather than Buffalo and knowing in either place the team was angling for a QB, I call BS.

Bills are doing the same thing as the Cards with bridge QBs and they'll keep moving up in the draft.

only they're not spending 20 million on a consistent ER patient and can keep building with more cash and extra first rounders available.

I wasn't up in arms about bradford yesterday (although the more I thought about it, the more it bothered me how much we gave him), but today, I am really at a loss.

Radio guys said they had NO interest in McCarron, Keenum or Taylor.

Based of that, this makes the Bradford signing even more embarrassing imo.

Should’ve signed this kid!

This is driving me insane. I would 100% rather have McCaron and either Bridgewater or McCown. Could have had QB 1 and 2 for the same price as Bradford. This team finds a way to make me not care about September. Happened last year too.

At least they got a bridge QB they can be a little bit excited for. McCarron is fairly young and hasn't got his chance to be a starter. I think he looked solid in 2 games for the Bengals, not any worse than Dalton. Bradford on the other hand is a known commodity. Great talent wasted. Never could stay healthy and it got worse in recent years. No doubt he can put up decent completion stats, but when it matters he throws the game away. Has he even been in the playoffs once other than as Keenum's backup? I don't think so. I'd swap McCarron for Bradford in a heartbeat, not even accounting for money. We all know exactly what Bradford will get us. It's either a season of 10+ games with Mike Glennon as our starting QB. Yikes! Or Bradford stays healthy doing his dink and dunk thing and we finish around 0.500 yet again. No shot at playoffs, hence winning a playoff game, but far away from drafting a legit QBOF. Honestly, I'd prefer Bradford gone and Glennon leading us to a top 5 pick. Sad times ahead I guess.

I’m no big fan but his contract is hardly bad... it’s 15 million for your starter. Chump change by NFL QB standards nowadays... elevates to 20 based on incentives... If he stays healthy and hits his end incentives I’m betting we are all happy campers. Furthermore the contract has injury protection built-in supposedly? I don’t know how anybody could hate the contract...

It is a bit high for such a high risk player and I don't like the odds of him getting his incentives. Not sure what the injury protection is but if he goes down we get to see Mike Glennon. Oh boy!

I don't like the Glennon signing more than the Bradford signing. But, maybe Keim has a crystal ball and can see the future...no, wait...he just seems to have crystal balls...

I’m with you on Glennon but the Bradford contract with the incentives and protections is completely reasonable

it's 15 million for a guy who will play 5 games and limits your ability to improve a pretty barren roster... while there was another guy out there who could have been just as mediocre as Bradford with nowhere near the injury concerns.

And it's a one year deal Shane. If it bumps up during the season, great. But it's still eating up a big chunk of cap now and you can't honestly believe he's going to meet those incentives.

Geez, I would have much rather had McCarron at this price. Oh well, I'm already down enough after HB was cut, I don't think I can feel worse about the team.

I don’t know if he will or won’t the guy played 15 games in 2016 and was pretty damn good... Anything is possible. I do know that he is likely a better QB if he is playing than AJ McCarron. Worth the risk IMO. I’m no fan of Glennon or the news that there is. O plans for a young QB. Now that infuriated me.

How is it worth the risk? Unless the cards have a shot for a deep run in the playoffs or they keep Bradford for 4-5 years then it’s all pointless. I don’t get the point. If you aren’t building towards a championship you are building towards futility.
