I’m no big fan but his contract is hardly bad... it’s 15 million for your starter. Chump change by NFL QB standards nowadays... elevates to 20 based on incentives... If he stays healthy and hits his end incentives I’m betting we are all happy campers. Furthermore the contract has injury protection built-in supposedly? I don’t know how anybody could hate the contract...
You sure are doing a 360 from yesterday lol

I don’t know if he will or won’t the guy played 15 games in 2016 and was pretty damn good... Anything is possible. I do know that he is likely a better QB if he is playing than AJ McCarron. Worth the risk IMO. I’m no fan of Glennon or the news that there is. O plans for a young QB. Now that infuriated me.

Come on Shane... I feel like over the years BOTH of us have banged on Bradford for being captain checkdown and always putting up hollow stats that never lead to wins.

And that’s exactly what happened in 2016. That team got off to a hot start and then Bradford went Bradford and became completely pedestrian as that team lost something like 7 Of 8... with the one win coming against us of course.

This signing proves a couple of things: #1, these so called experts on BSPN haven't got a clue. I was watching a clip the other day and they said that McCarron would be a good pick up for us but he won't sign here if we has aspirations of drafting a QB to compete. Well, here he is signing with a team who'll probably draft a QB to compete. #2, this just goes to show how much of a moron Keim is. At this point, if my choice is an oft injured Bradford for $20 million or AJ McCarron for $10 over 2 years, give me McCarron at $10 million for 2 years, draft a QBOTF, and spend that extra money on an offensive line and other holes. But no, Keim spends almost $30 million on a QB who's made of glass and a guy who flat out stinks. It's Rod Graves all over again.

Not reallly.. I wasn’t up in arms over Bradford especially after I saw the contract in the injury protection’s and incentives… I was infuriated yesterday with Glennon..

I have absolutely slammed Bradford over the years but hard to argue his performance in his last 20 starts.

And like I said with the incentives and injury protection the contract doesn’t really bug me. it’s not like there’s a poo ton of good quality FAs out there still that are going to help this team improve to spend the extra $ on.

Sam Bradford's last 20 starts almost span the last 3 seasons.

Yep & that’s exactly why the signing + the ca$h is a mistake.

Nobody outside of Bradford with an injury history like that gets that kind of coin. How he keeps going it I have no idea. Ugh

And you don’t see any correlation between us not going after any big name free agents because we were set on giving Mr. Glass that sized contract? That didn’t happen in a vacuum Shane.

You must have missed all of the news and reports that Cousins was our first choice and we clearly made a very strong offer??? So no I don’t begrudge they tried... We weren’t as attractive an option and obviously were crazy enough to offer and all guaranteed contract.

Carson Palmers history wasn’t a whole lot better and was commanding 26 million on the cap. Would you be this upset if he decided not to retire and stay on the team?

Considering Palmer missed 22% of his career games vs 60% of Bradford’s & counting I don’t get your point

The 2 aren’t even comparable

okay... WTF. Now the Bradford signing looks HORRIBLE. He's a perfectly acceptable bridge while allowing the team to use extra cap space to add to a pretty barren roster.

And for anyone saying "he might not have come here!" If that's true... with an MVP running back, a HOF WR for at least a year, MUCH better weather than Buffalo and knowing in either place the team was angling for a QB, I call BS.
Bradford signing looked horrible when it happened.

Bradford is better then all 3 put together. McCoys offense with the focus more on the run game is gonna help protection. Some of this insane crap is over the top. AJ better then Sam? C'mon. Glennon is a good choice for a back up. The negativity on this board is borderline obnoxious

They went after Cousins, Brees, & Foles. Who were the big name FA's they didn't go after?

Hell, I'm just glad the team now has actual QBs on the roster. Last week there were none. I am trying to set my expectations very low.

our QB signings make sense...

Keim is making a draft move for Drew Lock in the 2019 draft...or possibly Stidham

Then Adrian Peterson went all "get me a switch" is what you meant to say. Bradford's numbers were not bad that year. I saw where someone else posted this on another thread and I didn't want it to become the gospel, and they did not loose 7 out of their last 8 games.

Looking at the stats between Palmer and Bradford in 2016

Palmer - GP-15 Comp-364 Att-597 %-61.0 Yrds-4,233 Avg-7.09 TDs-26 INTs-14 QBR-54.5 Rating-87.2
Bradford - GP-15 Comp-395 Att-552 %-71.6 Yrds-3,877 Avg-7.00 TDs-20 INTs-5 QBR-57.3 Rating-99.3

So this doesn't get me all excited about Bradford, but it also doesn't make me think its a disaster either.

I never said they were bad. I said he’s a stat padder who has never made a difference in wins or losses (wanted to RESTATE my claim before you changed mi e to “become gospel”. That said, you’re right about the 7 Of 8. My bad They started 5-0 (only two with Peterson) then went 3-8, becoming only one of FIVE TEAMS EVER to not get into the playoffs after a 5-0 start.

Much more impressive.

There’s your new gospel that I’m sure you’ll completely ignore and then question my fandom as you’re wont to do.

And that was Bradford coming in late to the party.

So he was no part of the quick start but responsible for the collapse? Because he played at a consistent level throughout. So, either the "team" struggled or the QB had nothing to do with anything. Which seems more plausible?

I have never questioned your fandom, I promise I will never comment on one of your post again. It seems to me you have an agenda or attitude towards me to promote, so go for it. I am not p[art of the kool aid brigade, I'm just a wait and see guy. I can't predict the future nor will I try. Peace
