Thank the Almighty stars some folks aren't the owner/GM of the Cardinals, because otherwise they'd have the highest turnover rate in NFL history.

Seriously, I'm not one to pick on anyone for an opinion because there's no such thing as a wrong one (in sports anyhow), but for God's sake, it's been one game.

Yes, the game was awful.

Yes, the Cardinals' biggest glaring weaknesses were badly exposed today (Special Teams, Offensive Line).

Yes, the end result was a far, FAR cry from what we expected as fans.

However, for Gods sake, let's not punch Green, Arrington, Dockett, Boldin and Warner bus tickets out of town yet. Not after one crappy afternoon.

Mods and anyone else, I apologize if this comes across as sounding stuffy and like an cornholio, but I figure some things need to be said. I was over at the NFL Cardinal board, and you'd think Arrington was the Anti-Christ. Then I read posts where people are ready to come to blows and ready to spike JJ's Kool-Aid, so I felt compelled to write something in defense of the organization.

Like I said, I understand the angst.

I understand it's difficult to be patient watching a game so ugly.

I even understand and appreciate the fact that the expectations in Cardinal camp are changing. Had this game happened two years ago, the response would have probably been the typical "SAME OLD ****, DIFFERENT DAY" one that we've all grown accustomed to. So, if nothing else, I can correlate with you all on expecting MORE from this team. Believe me, no one is pulling for the Cards to be successful as much as I am. However, I've been patient with this team for 13 years, I think I'm willing to at LEAST give them one game before I completely count it as a lost season.

Believe me, we've all struggled through the David Kreig-Johnny Johnson backfield.

We all had to watch Buddy Ryan boast of bringing a winner to town, only to see him turn the defense in to Philadelphia West, and the offense in to Mesquite Junior High School North.

We survived Timm Rosenbach, Kelly Stoffer, Adrian Murrell (who from a past perspective was probably the best back the team has had since coming to Phoenix), Randall "The Thrill" Hill and the countless others who have come, gone and left little impact in their wake.

We can survive this.

Anyhow, thanks for letting me rant.

I agree

With a center who never played an NFL game till today and with no rushing attack- WARNER THREW FOR OVER 250 yards and had a QB RATING OF 85. An OL is usually only as good as its weakest link, a center who probably won't be around when Step gets back. What I'm saying is that this team does NOT suck and is actually good. The Vikings lost today and the Panthers lost today, they have good teams and I wonder if their fans are so brutal as some of the Cardinal fans have been today.

I think Paul McGuire was saying during last night's game that many teams who lost Sunday were going to be written off that would rebound in a big way. Hopefully the Cards are one of them.

Okay, looking for hope in the words of Paul McGuire is now my new definition of "desperation."

Thanks Osbern! :D

You really think that changing the center solves our OL problems??

I wish this was true but I seriously doubt it.

I think that the ST problem can be solved by coaching and better game preparation. The people to do it are there.

This is quite different to our OL. Without picking on the guys on the line but we are unexperienced at almost each position. Ross probably with the most experience at tackle and I'm not sure he is the real deal.
