Hunter is probably the missing piece we need to compete in the playoff. We were really "short" and Amare was constantly in foul trouble. But now, if Hunter steps up, he can let some starters to rest and take away the fouls that Amare/Marion would have got.

Now, all we need is for Barbosa to step up.

However, is it or I think JJ is doing a better job at PG than Barbosa? LOL I am sorry but JJ has better ball handling skill in my opinion and he is good at going to the basket. I think Barbosa is a bit too shy... maybe he is still too young. What do you think?

The tight rotation should be:
Amare
Nash
Marion
Q
JJ
Hunter

Jimmy

I've always felt that it was desirable to team JJ and Leandro. Both are really combo guards and quite athletic. I'm less excited about Leandro on his own right now.

As for Hunter, right now he is playing as well as any Suns center I can remember since the days of West and Miller. He has the potential to be a lot better than the guys that took the Suns to the finals.

I've hated KG ever since he made those ridiculous comments in an espn magazine interview few years ago.

When asked if he was overpaid (this was when he was making that crazy money), he responded "Hell no. If anything I'm underpaid, with everything I do. That's a ridiculous question. I have to do everything for this team."

Also, when asked about getting out of the first round, he said "We'll get out of the first round when everybody does their part. Players, coaches, management, everybody. I can't do everything by myself. It'll get us past the first round if m-----------s do their part."

Way to support your teammates jerk.

The whole interview is here if you want to read it:

sounds like Leon from the Bud commercials.

the tpuppies got mad because they were getting destoryed by the suns. even worst was what one of the tpuppies color guys said, " you just dont do that to a great player like spree." WHAT? since when has that POS been a great player. KG is a great player, nash is a great player, amare is well on his way to being a great player. spree isnt anything close to being a great player.
Sprewell is a BUM at best...

Scud,

The Garnett quotes were pretty bad, but you have to admit he has a point. It isn't like TMAC who simply poured it on the offensive end and nothing else. Garnett is motivated every game, and at that point was leading his team in Points, Rebounds and assists.

Also, I am pretty sure that was from 2 years ago, before they got Spree and Cassell. At that point the management had botch a lot of moves, ruining any supporting cast. While you can easily say his contract was hampering his teams production, you can also say he deserved to be at that point the highest paid person in the league, which he wasn't.

Basically I can see where he is right and wrong, so I never held it against him.

I never had a problem with his comments about carrying his team, but I did take issue with the idea that he is "underpaid". Even by NBA standards KG has to realize that there is a salary cap, and it's very difficult to build a team that can compete for a title when one salary takes up over half of that cap. There's just no room for error. Of course now he has taken a pay cut, so it seems he understands that.

At some point these star athletes are going to realize that most every normal person believes that all of them are overpaid. When a guy making $25 million per season to play basketball says he is underpaid it doesn't sit well with most fans. Still, if this isn't quite on the level of Latrell Sprewell's "feeding my family" line.

I thought Amare handled himself very well. It was just one of those instances where bad things happen to good people. :p

Two years from now, this exact same incident will wind up with Sprewell being ejected and Amare staying in the game. That's why things suck, er, the way things work in the NBA.

KG was underpaid. It's not his fault that the NBA jerry-rigged things so that Tim Duncan was even more underpaid than he was, or that Terrell Brandon broke down and wound up sucking away another $10m for nothing.

The Miami Heat are paying Shaq something like $30m right now, and they seem very happy to do so. It's hard to win in the NBA with a huge millstone salary on your cap, but it's even harder to win when you don't have the horses.
