Just about a week ago everyone was sharing the blame between Amare and Porter.

I said all along, this system doesn't fit Amare. Why do you bring in a coach that differs from what your best players- Nash and Amare do. The role Shaq has had the last two nights has been perfect. If the run isn't there, THEN you go to Shaq in the post.

Amare doesn't have the body to bang down low, he has the body to RUN and JUMP, which is why poor man's Amare type players- Warrick, Swift, Tyrus Thomas would exceed in our system.

btw I'd love to see a Suns lineup that looks like this

Nash
Richardson
Josh Smith
Tyrus Thomas
Amare

Just surround Nash with athletes and one kickout option

Not appropriate.

I still think the Suns...
are better off not signing Stoudemire on a 6 year 130 Million contract.
Bottomline.

He isnt a Duncan type who impacts the game in both ends dramatically, doesnt rely on athletism. Nor like KG who when INeffective offensively, becomes the determining factor defensively. Or even a James/Bryant who just takes over any time they want to.

Arenas is overpaid.
Lewis is overpaid.
T-Mac is overpaid. (Injuries mainly)

I personally rather see the Suns get 2 All-Stars with 130 Million Dollars (for 6 years).

Stoudemire is replacable to a certain extent, quiet easily it seems.

I think we should move Amare in the offseason and free up cap space, get picks, and young talent in return. I like the Joe Johnson idea.

I agree, but I am at a loss as to why this is apparently so difficult for some to understand?

You are completely distorting what people were saying about Amare. Go back and re-read posts. I guarantee you the majority of people were not bitching about Amare's role in this offense or the system impacting Amare's offensive game. People have been bitching about Amare's defense and rebounding being inconsistant since he came into the league. Nothing has changed.

You keep ignoring what people were saying and pretending like people were bitching about his offense. You and nowagimp keep harping on a point that nobody was making. Take off your Amare blinders for one second instead of accusing everybody of hating on Amare for offense.

Amare back at Center??? Do you even watch Amare at center? Do you even know that Amare at Center makes this team worse defensively?? Better question...do you even care about defense?

I have said this all along. When the team NEEDS a rebound. Amare crashes hard. Yes his box outs are weak at time, but I would not call him a weak rebounder.

Anyone who watched Marion the last few years, he was a rebound stat lover. He would rebound the missed shot at the end of every quarter + 2 rebounds a game, and on top of that, he would not let go of uncontested rebounds he shared with teammates. Amare does not do that. His 8 rebounds a game are legit.

And how much does a PF have to rebound when Shaq, Amundson and others like JRich on the court get rebounds?

I'd like to see 1 more rebound a game, and for it to be an offensive rebound.

Amare should average 27,9,2 and 2. Thats Amare.

I am not distorting anything, all I am saying is that we don't need that from him. The Lakers don't ask Kobe to post up players, he's not good at that. Chris Paul doesn't shoot 3s, hes not good at that. You play to your stars strengths, not their weaknesses. Amare is a strength on this team, UTILIZE it.

That's not true and you know it. If Amare crashes the boards hard when we needed a rebound he wouldn't finish a half with less the 5 rebounds. How many times has that happened? Hell Amare has finished a half with ZERO. Are you saying we didn't need rebounds all the times that has happened????

Amare does not do that. His 8 rebounds a game are legit.

So what? A guy with Amare's talent should be getting 12 LEGIT rebounds a night. I don't care how many rebounds are legit...he underachieves. At this point in Amare's career I would be happy with 10 a night.

I am not distorting anything, all I am saying is that we don't need that from him.

You are distorting. Go back and read what you wrote. You said, people were hating on Amare and it was Porter's system. You then talked about his offensive game. People were not hating on Amare for that reason. People were bitching about his defense and rebounding. I would call that a distortion. Those 2 problems have been around Amare's entire career not just under Porter.

The Lakers don't ask Kobe to post up players, he's not good at that. Chris Paul doesn't shoot 3s, hes not good at that. You play to your stars strengths, not their weaknesses. Amare is a strength on this team, UTILIZE it.

That's a complete cop out and not a good comparison. You're talking about offensive skill sets ON THE SAME SIDE OF THE BALL. They do ask Kobe to also play defense. They do ask Chris Paul to also play defense. Remember when Jordan was getting criticized for only being an offensive player? He went out worked his butt off and became a good defender (even won defensive player of the year). That's what real super stars do.

We should all give Amare a pass because he is not good at defense or rebounding? Really??

Many people have already posted this. Improving Amare's offensive game doesn't help this team in the long run if we don't get more defense. It's all find and dandy to put Amare in a position to do what he is good at. However, ultimately what this team needs is for Amare to play on the other side of the ball. He is a big man who plays small too often. That's not what a big man is suppose to do.

If we go out and get a bunch of defense to surround Amare with great. However, until then Amare is a liability on the other end of the court. Until then people should be pointing out how bad he is in that regard.

If your going to call people "haters" at least be right about what people are "hating" on him for. If they are legit reasons...you shouldn't have a problem with it.

Black Jesus,

Its hard to try to convince you of why a lot here "whines" about Stoudemire... considering you have him on your avatar and most likely your favourite player.

Again, I believe the Suns are BETTER OFF not signing Stoudemire for the MAX he will demand. If he somehow accepts a deal similar to his current salary (6 year 88 Million dollar contract, with team option on the 5th year). Then its "reasonable".

Suns should re-structure with a 3-4 All-Star Caliber starting 5, as opposed to 2.
The league in the future will have multiple stars taking pay cuts to win... I sense. To compete and be a contender you need a legit 5-6 men who contribute as opposed to a megastar to carry most of the loads.

Amare gets his fair share of uncontested rebounds, and rarely boxes out properly. I dont know how you can defend his rebounding BJ

Since when is a rebound "not needed"?

Maybe I'm just stupid, but I would think a rebound would be something we'd ALWAYS want.

Look, we just don't need some "I told you so" running around spouting half facts and distorting peoples feelings after the Suns win a couple games. The fans just start feeling good and you're there to stir up some nonsense over nothing and gloating over who knows what.

Everyone LOVES Amare for the right price. Some just do not feel he's worth a max salary/max years contract. We all know the NBA is a money game too...If X amount is spent somewhere then Y amount will be spent less somewhere else. Some of us have misgivings about an overpaid Amare long term....that has been discussed on this board for awhile now. That don't make us haters just Suns fans!

Pretty much.

And the nerve to call "us" (fans who didnt mind trading Stoudemire).. Band wagoners is just so wrong.

If anything, we are the true fans.... for the franchise as opposed to a player.

My favorite player. Nice spelling of favorite. No my favorite player is Joe Johnson. I think Black Jesus tattoed on amare's neck is funny.

And Amare is a top 5 scorer in the NBA and top 8 talent

Yeah and nice trolling thread you started....:trout:

Not as funny as your blind homerism over Amare.

For Amare being a "top 8 talent" (whatever that means)....Where does he rank in rebounds and defense for a big man?

Black Jesus you can't talk about Amare getting rebounds when needed and then knock Marion's rebounding. He got some of the biggest rebounds in the run and gun era with his rebound kickouts to nash to win games. Amare is a weak rebounder and defensive player. yea he is a good scorer, but he is soft. his awesome thugnasty side only comes out against weak bigmen teams like the clippers.
