It will be a sweep and Amare will be the culprit, somehow. He always is.

Well, when you're a complete non factor on defense and are only scoring when spood fed... and you injure yourself being a complete buffoon... its pretty hard to avoid the culprit label.

This is the 2nd straight year Amare has hurt himself doing something dumb (although this years was far dumber) in the playoffs. It will be his 3rd straight horrendous playoff showing.

Its almost impossible to make excuses for him anymore.

I guess Suns knew Amare is a total gamble... and they dodged it.

Amare looks like a C+ player these days. Hey, who cares.. he already got the big contract he wants.

I dont even know if he qualifies as that. Certainly not in terms of impact. He is probably a B offensive player... unless Chandler is on the court with him, in which case he drops to a C- and an F- on defense.

I've said it before, I will say it again; for ANYONE with any lingering doubts about Amare watch the next game he plays... whenever that might be... and watch him play off the ball. Ignore the ball handler, just watch Amare on defense. He is a baffling player to watch who frequently is covering no one, gets beat on virtually every rotation and tries to make up for it by poking at the ball as his man blows past, this move causes a steal about one in 20 tries... and a foul about one in four and an easy layup almost every other time. He almost never boxes out, is lazy in transition.

And for your viewing pleasure:

That comically bad play is not a rare occurrence for Amare.

I would say it's a combo of things. His back and/or other injuries. Age my be hitting him early (see previous). He's learning it's harder when you don't have Nash dishing you easy dunks.

Perhaps he figured it would take time. Then maybe he needed to add another piece. Finally he's probably just realized they can't get much better and he won't get past the Heat this year or any other most likely? Amare needed Nash, and the older he gets, the more injuries he sustains that sap his abilities, the truer it gets.

Of course, it's a complete guess.

He is a shell of his former selff, it looks like he doesn't even care anymore.

Look at that he is doesn't give a rats ass or is absolutely and completely lost.

Look at that its like he is going through the motions on offense also. No where near the dominating force he was in Phoenix. Went from the hero in New York to the villain in one a year.
