How much was it? I have $10GC there, waiting for a 1:1 sale. I think there was a 2:1 sale not too long ago, but the selection was crap.

Now that ownership and IT is going corporate, I'm less comfortable shopping through ASFN.

Obviously people wouldn't be too interested in using the links if the money is going to a for-profit company, but what about using it to fund giveaways. Giveaways could be based on a random drawing or a contest of some kind (e.g. Anquan Boldin photoshop or trivia).

I feel the same way. I used it a couple of days ago, and second guessed myself minutes afterwards.

As long as that link is up, it's going to me, not the new company.

Now, if you want to be paranoid, then stop using it. I don't care.

But man it hurts to hear you guys talk like this.

Although I really can't blame you for being skeptical...

How would we know though? ASFN is being moved to a company who bought it to make a profit, why wouldn't we expect that the profits would go there?

I see what you are talking about but what does it matter. I thought the point of using the amazon and ebay links were to help keep the site free. How does that change if there is a new owner?

Because they will have their own way of making money, their own ads, etc. The Amazon link/Ebay links are mine, and will eventually go away.

I also trust Mike with whatever info comes with the money. I'm less at ease with a corp.

Anyone know anything about this?

So you guys should be rolling in pennies, with my recent splurges, but here's a thought, Mike -- what about letting people earn A$FN dollars based on ASFN-linked purchases on E-Bay or Amazon? Wouldn't have to be a lot, maybe $5-10 per purchase with a bonus for large expenditures. Or something.

Interesting how imaginary loot I'll probably never use becomes an immediate incentive. We are SOOOO conditioned!

I like that idea a lot, but it might be up to Keebali if they have the technical skills to make it happen. The problem is, when you go buy stuff there, we really can't link it to your account here.

But stuff like that would encourage you guys to use the links more knowing you were A) helping the site with revenue and B) getting yourself some vBookie money.
