Ha! I told my wife he looked like Travolta but she couldn't see it.

Syesha (sp?) has a rockin' voice.
I did a quick GIS & very first pic of him to come up I could totally see it.

I didn't like Michael John's version of Fleetwood. He needs to do something really different.

Castro...I dont really like this song, but this guy is really good...I wonder what he would be like without the guitar. He's got star potential, IMO. And a lot of it.

The Davids were great tonight. Cook was really, really good...great performance.

When Archuletta busted out Imagine, I thought he would hurt it...that's a song you kind of don't mess with. I liked it...not really his rendition, but his voice is just beautiful.

He's my pick to win this thing.

Totally agree.. I wasn't happy with his choice in song, Peter Gabriel is the only one I have heard cover that song without killing it. Still, the kid has a very good voice, and he has to be the front runner at this point. Kids got mad skills.

Michael Johns was terrible, I thought. Couldn't understand why the judges thought he was even "just okay." Also, I thought maybe he was doing a Jim Morrison just for the Doors song he did last week, but it seems that's just him. I like him a lot less after this week.

I thought Castro was fantastic again, and again felt like I was watching a different show as all three judges were critical.

Chikeze (sp?) was really good. That was a fun performance. I think he's going to have a lot of range--my guess is that he'll be a little bit of a chameleon from week to week.

Noriega, Jeager and the faux-rocker guy were terrible for various reasons, I thought. I'm going to guess it's Jeager and faux-rocker in the bottom two.

Cook was really great. Very good stage presence, IMO.

Archuletta...wow. If I were to find a single critisism (and it's only because I'm looking for one--I thought he was fantastic) it's that he needs to learn some nuance to delivering the lyrics. It's hard for me to describe, but I think he "sings" every word too evenly. There are some words that need to be downplayed and others that need to be subtely "hit" more. I think that'll come as he matures. But, again, I think the kid is really amazing.

I heard a replay of David Hernandez (he's from here/Glendale) on the radio this morning (he did "Papa Was A Rolling Stone"). I thought he sounded fantastic. Didn't see the show, so I don't know anything else about him, but that sounded really good.

Right. I forgot to mention him. He WAS good, but I think ultimately, he's forgttable. I think once we get down to the people who really have a shot, he'll be one of the first to go from that group.

...in other words, I think he's probably the worst of the best, if that makes any sense.

He also pops on his Ps too much. Seriously, about the ONLY thing I can say wrong about the guy. He's fantastic. Wrap it up, this show is done.

Does anybody else hear him breathing in the mic constantly?

I like his voice but after awhile all I hear is a wheezing breathing noise.

That's because he's recovered from a damage vocal chord. He had a speaking disability because of it, and only recently has he been able to speak above a whisper.

He just needs to learn mic technique.

I couldn't believe it.

She's like nails on a chalkboard unless she's singing Janis Joplin. She even sounded like crap in the opening montage.

heh.... she has to be the next to guy.. sounds like a guy smoker with zero range... i think it's disrespectful to Janis for all the comparison!

Hopefully she goes with the "tom boy" girl Kristy i think her name was...

guys has to be David and Luke.. well at least Luke, his voice is just painful...

Wow. Kristy is not a winner, but she's still above the margin, which is very low this year. David also will be a Top 12, or at least he should be.

People that need to go right now:

- Amanda "El Vira" Overmyer
- Kady Malloy
- Luke Menard

On the fence:
- Asia'h Epperson
- Brooke White
- David Cook

The rest should do OK.

My Top 5:
1. Syesha Mercado
2. Carly Smithson
3. David Hernandez
4. David Archuleta
5. Wildcard

Hernandez to Stay on 'Idol' Despite Past

David Hernandez won't be stripped of his chance to compete on "American Idol." A person close to the show, who is not authorized to comment publicly and asked not to be identified, told The Associated Press on Tuesday that there were no plans to remove Hernandez from the Fox singing competition -- despite the semifinalist's past as a male stripper.

The 24-year-old from Glendale, Ariz., once worked as an adult entertainer at Dick's Cabaret in Phoenix, appearing fully nude and performing lap dances for the club's "mostly male" clientele, strip club manager Gordy Bryan told the AP on Monday.

In 2003, semifinalist Frenchie Davis was dismissed from "Idol" because of her appearance on an adult Web site, but Antonella Barba remained in the competition last year after racy photos of her surfaced on the Internet. The source who confirmed that Hernandez will remain said Davis' situation was different because of the site's age-themed content.

Fox and the producers declined to comment on Hernandez, who was scheduled to perform a song from the '80s in a live telecast Tuesday with the other male singers as the semifinalists are narrowed down this week to the final 12 contestants. All the singers, including Hernandez, have been unavailable for interviews.

Dick's Cabaret manager Bryan said he was aware that Hernandez was a vocalist, but that Hernandez never sang at the club. Bryan said he now believes Hernandez stopped working at the strip club on Sept. 30, 2007, because of his participation in "Idol."

Hernandez, who originally auditioned for the show in San Diego on July 30, 2007, has never been referred to as a stripper or former stripper during the competition. Last week, he earned rave reviews from the judges after his performance of The Temptations' "Papa Was a Rolling Stone."

On a video posted on AmericanIdol.com, Hernandez said he broke the lease on his apartment and lived out of his car before auditioning for "Idol." And, when asked in a Q&A posted on the site which talent would he would most like to have if he couldn't sing, Hernandez responded: "Dancing! I'm horrible at that."
