David Cook has been fantastic two weeks running now. He absolutely killed the Lionel Richie song.

He's really good...I like.

David Cook was f'n awesome this week. Really good stuff.

Simon made a comment about one of the girls being "forgettable." I think that's going to e a problem for all of the girls once they're sharing the same stage with the boys. The boys have memorable performers (Archuletta, Cook, Castro...even Johns), they have guys who stand out; the girls don't. That's not to say some of the girls aren't great singers, they just aren't as easily identifiable.

DL'd Jason Castro's Hallelujah on itunes. That was a really good performance.

I'd put up there with Constantine's "Bohemian Rhapsody" and Ruben's "Superstar" performance as one of my all time favorite performances on the show.

He, Cook, and Archuleta are way ahead of the competition.

I agree Pariah as far as the girls go, no memorably performances yet. Usually by now you have the Vonzells, McPhees, Sparks, etc beginning to distance themselves.

Ha, I dl'd Cook's "Hello" from itunes. I don't know if I can ever hear that song again without thinking of his version.

As far as I'm concerned, "Hallelujah" is the only good thing to come out of the Shrek movies (at least that is how I was introduced to it).

I d/l it, too (because of Louis' comment). Like it; sounded good.

Wow. All of you need to go download Jeff Buckley's "Grace" album immediately. You're all suffering a lower quality of life without it and you don't even know it.

My girlfriend went to high school with David. So she gets so nervous on elimination day even though there was no chance he was going home yesterday.

Chikezie tore it up last night. IMO miles ahead of any other performance last night. It was bad ass. That goes up there with Ruben, Constantine, and Jason.

Jason Castro and David Cook were tied for 3rd. No second for me. Chikezie was too good last night for anybody else to come close.

Goodbye Kristy Lee Cook.

Last night was my first night watching this season. I have to agree this is a very talented group.

I think the country chick is going home. I wasn't impressed with Archuleta at all but it sounded like he just had a bad night from what Simon said?

I point this out every year but I think Simon made a subtle dig at it, people who deserve to stay will go home ahead of Malubay because AI is so popular with Filipinos. You can't believe how popular it is my girlfriend's entire family watches the show religiously, so do all their friends. When we were in Australia we visited some friends of my girlfriends aunt who are Filipino and
within 5 minutes they were asking about the new season of AI and if the Filipino girl made the cut.

Remember in the past Jasmine Trias and another Filipina all stuck around much longer than people expected it's because the show is so popular in that community and they vote as a group. It's kind of a catch 22 for the show the fan involvement is a big reason the show is so popular but it ends up precisely as SImon said last night that it's often a popularity contest
not a talent contest. I think Malubay has a very good voice but she's in over her head in this contest the others are just far more polished.

I've only watched through the Brooke chick singing "Let it Be."

First off, FINALLY. I have been begging for Beatles songs forever.

The Irish dame totally nailed it with Come Together...and Overmeyer needs to be taking notes from her as to how to actually sing "hard" and still "sing."

Cook did a FANTASTIC job with Elenor Rigby, which as soon as he started I thought he'd blow it...tough song for a competition like this, yet he switched it up and just drove it home. I don't think I can call him a dark horse anymore, he's legit. I'd buy his album...great performer too.

Castro I thought was better than the judges did, but I really love the way he sang that song...beatles-esque, IMO.

Brooke had brass ones to sing Let it Be, but it sure worked...it was an emotional performance of an emotional song. One of my favorites of theirs.

I'll have to listen to Chikezie again...I tuned out I guess because I wasn't that into it...Ryan and him dancing around at the end was funny. I'll check it out again because I even forgot what he sang.

Others were forgettable and I don't even know if there were one or two. I'll watch the rest tonight.

Ah yes, she sang early too. I don't agree that she's in over her head but that you simply caught by far her worst performance. She's one of the best three girls, easy, IMO. She's not getting filipina love at this point (at least as the reason she's around). She's not a Trias type, (who wasn't good--AT.ALL.)

I was disappointed in Ramiele last night, because she's far better than that. Syesha is also better than her song last night...by a lot. Both of them seemed intimidated by the songs, so didn't do much with them. You can't do that with a Beatles song...you either have to jam it out like Cook and Carly did, or put your heart and soul into it like the Brooke chick.

The top three females, talentwise, IMO are Carly, Ramiele and Syesha. Top three guys are Cook, Archuletta and Castro. Chikeze outside looking in, IMO.

This is the first season Apple Corps would license the music to the show.

They were trying to do it last year; I was in NY talking to one of the reps in town negotiating it (randomly).

So far through the 7 I've watched I've been pretty happy.

Last night sucked.

The balck dude, the Irish chick, and the Rocker guy who combs his EMO cut forward to cover his bald spot where good. The chick who played the piano was decent. The rest sucked out loud and butchered the best music ever written.

God I HATE this show. :bang:

Great, I've already seen the ones I liked so the rest must really suck.

Finished the rest of them.

OMG...amanda overmeyer is HORRIBLE but Kristy was worse this week. I didn't think that was possible. She brutalized 8 days a week. At least I couldn't hear the words Overmeyer was gouging the eyes out of.

And the stripper guy is a douchebag...the sooner he goes, the better. He also got a word wrong.

Archuletta looked really uncomfortable and forgot his words...ouch. Worst he's ever done. I also did NOT like the arrangement on the song. First time I've not liked David.

Ok, also rewatched Chikeze...he really worked that song out. Great job. Dunno how I slept through that one, but I wasn't feeling well yesterday.

Yeah, that was a great performance.

Well, they'll be doing more Beatles songs next week.

Awesome! (even though they will ruin some of them).

Try all of them... My wife had the show on tonight and this cast is just terrible.

Oh, and Dick's Cabaret guy is gonzo and I couldn't be more happy.

Though the Kristy chick isn't good, she's nice scenery.
