My wife and I were totally opposite from the judges on almost every one of the preformances last night. We were underwhelmed by Bo; thought the blonde doing Pat Benetar was spectatcular and crossed the genre line with ease; thought the black girl who did "let's hear it fort the boy" was out of tune and a beat too slow; but Constantine doing "Bohemian Rhapsody" was brilliant.

When I heard he was doing Bohemian Rhapsody I thought exactly what SWD said, but he really pulled it off. Not bad for a guy who a month ago cound;t carry a tune. Where the hell did he come from. I thought for sure he would be one of the first to go, but after the last few preformances, I think it's going to be him and the blonde in the finals.

Bo really needs to step it up. I think he's a far better singer than Constantine, but his song choices have been suspect at best lately. Although, what's up with Simon implying that "Freebyrd" isn't a well-known song? It's a friggin Southern Rock anthem, fer chrissakes. The whole of the south will be voting for Bo this week because of Simon's comment, IMO.

My wife and I felt the same way you did. Vonzell sang well, but she looked lost on the stage.

As far as Bo goes, Simon said the song was a "Sacred" song. Which is in line with what you stated - it is a Southern Rock Anthem. Bo sang it okay, but didn't do it justice.

Anwar is boring - and he is always singing songs originally done by females. ;)

Come'on Anwar, butch it up a little!

Last night I said, "doesn't he do this song every week?"

It's funny that every week the judges tell him he's "technically the best singer in the competition." That's good, because as a music teacher you need that. As a preformer, you need to not be boring. I think the only thing that keeps him around for the next couple of weeks is because he flashed some sex appeal by showing some chest this week.

Every song, it seems, he starts off sitting on a stool.

Man, dude Anwar, get a real song. He is showing me he has no versatility. Carrie, even though she messed up some words last night, took a big chance by singing Benetar, but she really impressed me by at least trying that.

I liked Carrie taking a chance on that song - Benetar was a real rocker, so it stretched her range. She did well, not great.

I did think that Constatine did a very good job with Bohemian Rhapsody.

constatine had guts singing a queen song last night. they announced it and i just laughed - i said, "well, looks like constatine is going home this week" but then 3 minutes later i was

dude's got major confidence, that's all i can say. so far he has butchered sting, did a david cassidy song (which was brilliant song choice imo), and for the past two weeks has done an amazing job. i like bo better, but right now - for they guys - it's constatine's to lose.

Ok, just got home & couldn't believe no one posted to tell me who lost. Where's the newsfreaks when ya need em. Had to look it up myself.

Nadia, Nadia, Nadia. You're awesome but you blew it. How many times to they have to tell you "SONG CHOICE"? I think she' could have been in the top 3 had she picked the right songs. Wonderful performer, bizarre song choices.
If she has an "advisor", I'd be firing them. :trout:

Thought Anthony was gonna get the boot...hhmmmmm.

And Bo in the bottoms 3??? Whoa! Guess he better kick it up a notch next week. He rocks.

Carry on...

I am so rooting again Scott... the guy is a jackass. Plus after he got arrested for roughing up his son's mother a few years ago, he is no friend of mine

Would have to agree... His 'wanna-be gangsta', eminem eating, over inflated ego and just down right poor outward attitude really rubs me the wrong way... Not to mention, who the heck told him that that facial hair style would look okay - and the pencil thin stache just irks me to no end...

I was so hoping Scott would get the boot - who the heck is voting for him anyways?

Sorry to see Nadia go, but with Simon out to get her, she didn't stand a chance. Of course, the song choice/outfit Tuesday didn't help at all.

I must be weird, I didn't know that song but I really liked it, she was IMHO the best contestant in the show, best combination of singer and performer. I really think Simon doomed her.

You can't seriously tell me Scott, Anthony and the guy who sang Queen are all better than she is. I think she'll make out ok anyways but that's the part of Idol I really don't like, the callin voting has too much opening for bad choices.

What annoyed me was Paula clearly knowing the results and repeatedly saying she'd see Bo in the final, as soon as we saw the final 2 you knew Nadia was going home because of Paula's Bo comments.

Oh well happens every year that some contestant goes home much earlier than she should because of the fan vote.

How much pull does Simon have with the call in voters? All of the bottom three were ripped by Simon on Tues. He said Bo wouldn't get many votes with the song he sang, Scott hit more bum notes then good notes and he told Nadia that with that song choice she just might get voted out.

Does the voting public really listen to him or does he just state what everyone is thinking without worrying about being PC?

I used to think him ripping someone helped them because fans hated Simon and voted to prove him wrong. This year not so much, he seems to have a lot more say in the voting.

Part of my problem is I tend to judge them over their entirety on the show, so if someone has an "off" night, but was strong overall, I cut them slack.

scott and nadia have been in the bottom often recently ... not sure how bo got in there or how scott escaped doom and federov advances

but i think things will work themselves out

i think nadia will have a good career ahead, but not just with the teenager pop crowd

i personally don't think simon has that much pull. i like his comments and i typically think he's right on the mark. i like it that he doesn't pull any punches - however, i still vote for who i like regardless of what his comments are, so he doesn't influence me that much.

That's what my girlfriend said, the reason I like Nadia the best is that she doesn't sing the "pop" stuff. Which probably makes sense and explains why I like Bo(more of a rocker) and Carrie(I hate country but she's been pretty diverse) and don't like Scott or Anthony. Anwar is just a bit too boring, and Constantine just annoys me for some reason.

I also have to admit a big part of my liking Nadia was the whole Sideshow Bob hair thing!
