We were underwhelmed by Bo; thought the blonde doing Pat Benetar was spectatcular and crossed the genre line with ease; thought the black girl who did "let's hear it fort the boy" was out of tune and a beat too slow; but Constantine doing "Bohemian Rhapsody" was brilliant.
When I heard he was doing Bohemian Rhapsody I thought exactly what SWD said, but he really pulled it off. Not bad for a guy who a month ago cound;t carry a tune. Where the hell did he come from. I thought for sure he would be one of the first to go, but after the last few preformances, I think it's going to be him and the blonde in the finals.
Bo really needs to step it up. I think he's a far better singer than Constantine, but his song choices have been suspect at best lately. Although, what's up with Simon implying that "Freebyrd" isn't a well-known song? It's a friggin Southern Rock anthem, fer chrissakes. The whole of the south will be voting for Bo this week because of Simon's comment, IMO.
My wife and I felt the same way you did. Vonzell sang well, but she looked lost on the stage.
As far as Bo goes, Simon said the song was a "Sacred" song. Which is in line with what you stated - it is a Southern Rock Anthem. Bo sang it okay, but didn't do it justice.
